چکیده

Caption: Pyramidal neurons, light micrograph with Nissl staining. This sample, from a human brain, shows two pyramidal neurons. Pyramidal neurons (nerve cells) have a triangular cell body with dendrites leading from two of their corners and one long axon (bottom) extending from the other. The cell nuclei (round, dark) are visible here. Information from the dendrites is processed by the cell body and then relayed through the axon to other cells. Magnification: ×600 when printed at 10 centimetres tall. IN THIS ISSUE

Fluorescein angiography findings in a case of Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome

The purpose of this report is to describe the fluorescein angiography findings in a case of Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. Fundus photography and fluorescein angiography were performed on a 6-year-old male with Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome due to CREB binding protein gene mutation. Fundus photography showed glaucomatous cupping and diffusely attenuated retinal vasculature. Choroidal vasculature was pr...

Early Detection of Diabetic Retinopathy in Fluorescent Angiography Retinal Images Using Image Processing Methods

Introduction: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the single largest cause of sight loss and blindness in the working age population of Western countries; it is the most common cause of blindness in adults between 20 and 60 years of age. Early diagnosis of DR is critical for preventing vision loss so early detection of microaneurysms (MAs) as the first signs of DR is important. This paper addresses th...

Fundus changes in incontinentia pigmenti (Bloch-Sulzberger syndrome).

A case of incontinentia pigmenti is reported with fundus changes in 1 eye. She had microaneurysms temporal to the macula, with an abnormal branch of inferior temporal vein. There was extensive retinitis proliferans in the upper temporal equatorial region, which showed leakage on fluorescein angiography.

Anatomical and functional correlation in Susac syndrome: multimodal imaging assessment

BACKGROUND Susac's syndrome (SuS) is an uncommon disease characterized by retinal microangiopathy that may be assessed more accurately with optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA), a new imaging technique which provides a retinal microvasculature map. The purpose of this case report is to describe the multimodal imaging findings of SuS correlating OCTA with functional tests. CASE PRES...

Lacquer cracks observed in peripheral fundus of eyes with high myopia

We report a case with lacquer cracks observed in the peripheral fundus. A 37-year-old patient with bilateral high myopia who visited our clinic was examined by fluorescein angiography (FA) and fundus autofluorescence (FAF) to determine whether there were myopic fundus lesions. FA showed many arch-shaped, hyperfluorescent linear lesions running circumferentially in the peripheral fundus. FAF sho...
