چکیده

This paper details a preliminary investigation into space-time-waveform adaptive processing for waveform diverse distributed apertures. The large baseline of such a distributed radar results in angular resolution that is orders of magnitude better than the resolution of a monolithic system (single large radar) with the same power-aperture. This capability comes at the cost of grating lobes (multistatics with evenly spaced apertures) or high sidelobes (multistatics with randomly spaced apertures). This paper develops some preliminary solutions to these drawbacks associated with distributed apertures. In particular, the use of approximately logarithmic spacing with each aperture transmitting orthogonal waveforms provides excellent detection performance.

Clutter Doppler Range Dependency in Orthogonal-waveform-diversity-processing for Distributed Aperture Radars

Distributed aperture radars represent an interesting solution for target detection in environments affected by clutter. Due to the large distances between array elements, both target and interfering sources are in the near field of the antenna array. Recent works have demonstrated the benefits of combining frequency diversity and space time adaptive processing for distributed aperture radars. U...

Time-Orthogonal Waveform Diversity and Joint Domain Localised Algorithm for Distributed Aperture Radars

Distributed aperture radars represent an interesting solution for target detection in strong interference environments. Distributed apertures provide improved angular resolution or are able to view a target from multiple look-angles, thereby exploiting scintillation. However, due to the large distances between array elements, both target and interfering sources are in the near field of the ante...

Target Detection in Bistatic Passive Radars by Using Adaptive Processing Based on Correntropy Cost Function

In this paper a novel method is introduced for target detection in bistatic passive radars which uses the concept of correntropy to distinguish correct targets from false detections. In proposed method the history of each cell of ambiguity function is modeled as a stochastic process. Then the stochastic processes consist the noise are differentiated from those consisting targets by constructing...

A Novel Method for Detecting Targets on Inactive Radars Using an Adaptive Processing on the Ambiguity Function (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this paper a novel method for detecting targets in inactive radars is presented. In this method, the time history of cellsof the ambiguity function is used for detection. For this purpose, the cell history is considered as a random field. Then, using adaptive filter, the string time of the desired target are separated from the string time of noise and clusters in the environment. In order to...
