چکیده

Although the development of rheological software has kept pace with the advances in modern rheometrical instruments the process of data analysis and interpretation remains fallible and can be prone to some signiicant errors. The reason for this is that the ability and knowledge of human beings to utilise the intruments and data at their disposal can be somewhat limited in some instances. To solve this problem an intelligent system has been built which incorporates knowledge to assist the user. The system provides descriptions about the data or graph using natural language, explanations using tutorial frames, and a step-by-step hands-on guidance through the data analysis. In this paper, the two major problems faced by users are stated and the techniques (symbolic and nonsymbolic computation) employed to solve these problems are described theoretically. Finally, illustrations are given which show how these ideas are implemented in the system.

The physicochemical properties of solute in solutions provide valuable information on solute –solvent, solute – solute and solvent – solvent interactions. The intermolecular forces between theliquids molecules and solvent molecules affect the viscosity of the solution. Information regardinginter and intra molecular interactions can be obtained from volumetric, and viscometric data in asolute so...

Qualitative analysis of Orzooiyeh plain groundwater resources using GIS techniques

Background: Unsustainable development of human societies, especially in arid and semi-arid areas, is one of the most important environmental hazards that require preservation of groundwater resources, and permanent study of qualitative and quantitative changes through sampling. Accordingly, this research attempts to assess and analyze the spatial variation of quantitative and qualitative indica...

Qualitative and Quantitative Simulation: Bridging the Gap

Shortcomings of qualitative simulation and of quantitative simulation motivate combining them to do simulations exhibiting strengths of both. The resulting class of techniques is called semi-quantitative simulation. One approach to semi-quantitative simulation is to use numeric intervals to represent incomplete quantitative information. In this research we demonstrate semiquantitative simulatio...

ارایه ریسک گراف بهبودیافته فازی جهت تعیین بهینه سطح یکپارچگی ایمنی در مراکز صنعتی

Introduction: Due to the presence of extreme hazard sources and high intrinsic risk in refineries and process industry sectors, different layers of protection are being used to reduce the risk and avoid the hazardous events. Determining Safety Integrity Levels (SILs) in Safety Instrumented Systems (SISs) helps to ensure the safety of the whole process. Risk Graph is one of the most popular and ...

The Use of Qualitative and Quantitative Simulations

We describe a technique called imagining which uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative simulation techniques to solve a problem where neither alone would suffice. We illustrate the imagining technique using the domain of geologic interpretation and argue for why the two types of simulation are necessary for problems of this sort. We also discuss the strengths of each simulation techn...
