The notion of trajectory in graphical user interfaces

چکیده
The Active Objects Model (AOM) as a model-based user interface development environment is presented. The paper highlights the convenience of the trajectory notion in the description of the structure and functionality of graphical user interfaces. The AOM model consists of a set of active agents with private rule based behaviours. Model entities involve topological information which define, through a direct manipulation technique, the active object behaviour definition, parallel and cooperative evolution of agents, time controlling, event oriented or supervised behaviour, interactive techniques, visual programming constructs, rapid prototyping, and demonstration based interfaces.

Lack of trust is one of the key bottle necks in e-commerce development. Nowadays many advanced technologies are trying to address the trust issues in e-commerce. One among them suggests using suitable user interfaces. This paper investigates the functionality and capabilities of 3D graphical user interfaces in regard to trust building in the customers of next generation of B2C e-commerce websit...
متن کاملSelecting and Extracting Effective Features of SSVEP-based Brain-Computer Interface
User interfaces are always one of the most important applied and study fields of information technology. The development and expansion of cognitive science studies and functionalization of its tools such as BCI1, as well as popularization of methods such as SSVEP2 to stimulate brain waves, have led to using these techniques every day, especially in appropriate solutions for physically and menta...
متن کاملFunction Composition in Physical Chaining Applications
We introduce the notion of function composition, an interaction technique employed in several graphical user interfaces (GUIs), for use in physical chaining applications. Allowing the user to perform function composition in systems utilizing tangible user interfaces (TUIs) for input allows for more efficient use of the interactive workspace and the physical icons. In addition, it allows the use...
متن کاملAn Off-line Simulation Package for Robotics Education and Industrial Purposes
In this paper, a novel off-line robot simulation package is developed for the industrial robot manipulators. The package allows interactive simulation of fundamental robot manipulators classified by Huang and Milenkovic [1]. The new package using Matlab Graphical User Interface (GUI) commands provides an interactive environment for serial-link robot manipulators. In the new package, there are s...
متن کاملCognitive Modelling Issues in Direct-Manipulative Human-Computer Interaction
We propose here a new approach to modelling user interfaces, based on the thesis that the linguistically motivated approach of dialogue modelling is often not entirely adequate. Instead of assuming a human dialogue type of interaction, the notion of manipulating an artificial environment is used as the base for modelling the interaction with graphical computer systems. Some linguistic ideas fro...
