Fun with Fonts: Algorithmic Typography
نویسندگان
چکیده
Over the past decade, we have designed six typefaces based on mathematical theorems and open problems, specifically computational geometry. These typefaces expose the general public in a unique way to intriguing results and hard problems in hinged dissections, geometric tours, origami design, computeraided glass design, physical simulation, and protein folding. In particular, most of these typefaces include puzzle fonts, where reading the intended message requires solving a series of puzzles which illustrate the challenge of the underlying algorithmic problem.

متن کاملExamining Perceptions of Online Text Size and Typeface Legibility for Older Males and Females
This study examined the perceived font legibility, ease of reading, and font sharpness, as well as perceptions of font attractiveness, fun/personality, and general preference of two serif (Times New Roman and Georgia) and sans serif (Arial and Verdana) fonts at 12and 14-point sizes on a computer by older adults (mean age of 70). The results revealed that participants perceived the 14-point size...

Growth of information technology has played a great role in connecting the world together. The to and fro of information is common in this world. Fonts play a key major role in this communication process in digital domain. Common encoding scheme for one language helps in loss-less digital communication. Indian fonts lacks in this zone, as no Indian font has standard encoding format for mapping ...
متن کاملFonts Invisibility using virtual fonts
The SL~IQX 'invisible' fonts are currently produced by a special set of METAFONT files; an alternative method of generating 'invisible' versions of any font is presented, using virtual fonts.
