چکیده
B physics results from the Belle experiment are reviewed. Precise measurements of Cabbibo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements are made. Several decay modes are observed which will enable us to measure the CP angles, φ i in channels other than B 0 → ψK 0 modes. New rare decay modes are observed in many channels. Particular attention is paid to the first observation of the electroweak penguin-mediated decay.

Using the Belle detector operating at the KEKB ee storage ring, we have measured the mean multiplicity and the momentum spectrum of neutral pions from the decays of the Υ(4S) resonance. We measure a mean of 4.70± 0.04 ± 0.22 neutral pions per Υ(4S) decay.

The production of prompt J/ψ, ψ(2S), χc1 and χc2 is studied using a 32.4 fb data sample collected with the Belle detector at the Υ(4S) and 60 MeV below the resonance. The yield of prompt J/ψ mesons in the Υ(4S) sample is compatible with that of continuum production; we set an upper limit B(Υ(4S) → J/ψX) < 1.9 × 10−4 at the 95% confidence level, and find σ(e+e− → J/ψX) = 1.47 ± 0.10 ± 0.13 pb.
