Channel Estimation and Signal Detection for UWB
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we investigate channel estimation and signal detection for UWB communications. We first investigate channel estimation for UWB systems and then develop a minimum meansquare-error (MMSE) Rake receiver with joint timing andMMSE equalization. The key property of the estimator is that it uses sampling at UWB symbol rate (200Msamples/s), while estimating all relevant channel parameters for the full 7.5 GHz channel bandwidth. Computer simulations verify the usefulness of our approach for channel estimation and signal detection. This work may not be copied or reproduced in whole or in part for any commercial purpose. Performance Evaluation of Time Hopping UWB Transmission Using S-Rake Receiver
In this paper, we address a performance evaluation of Time Hopping Ultra-Wideband (TH-UWB) transmission with proposed procedures, based on Pulse Position Modulation (PPM) and considering IEEE 802.15.3a Channel Models (CM1, CM2, CM3, CM4). Moreover, a Selective Rake (S-Rake) receiver is designed to counter the effects of multipath fading occurring in UWB channel Models. The TH-UWB signal detecti...

In this paper, we improve the performance of the TiR-UWB communication systems with the non-ideal estimation of the channel. Time Reversal (TiR) technique is an effective and simple method for data transmission in extremely multipath indoor UWB channels that mitigates the complexity of receiver by its own time focusing feature. Although, TiR method has the suitable performance, but it is sensit...
متن کاملDetection, Synchronization, Channel Estimation and Capacity in UWB Sensor Networks using Compressed Sensing
Detection, Synchronization, Channel Estimation and Capacity in UWB Sensor Networks using Compressed Sensing by Shao-Yuan Chen Chair: Wayne E. Stark Conventional receivers in ultrawideband (UWB) communication system usually require high sampling rate and thus consume much power. With compressed sensing (CS), the sampling rate can potentially be reduced. In this thesis, the performance of CS used...
متن کاملSpace-Time Diversity Schemes with Blind Channel Estimation for TH-PPM UWB MIMO Communications
—For a time-hopping (TH) pulse position modulation (PPM) based ultra-wideband (UWB) multiantenna system, we propose four coherent space-time (ST) diversity schemes, corresponding to which the correlation template signals with blind channel estimation are also presented. First of all, the issue of channel identifiability based on first-order statistics is addressed, aspired by the singleantenna...
متن کاملZero padded suffix aided subspace-based narrowband interference detected adaptive channel estimation for MB-OFDM UWB systems
The ECMA-368 standard specifies multiband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM) as the definitive technology for high rate ultra-wideband (UWB) communications. Like other wireless systems, the performance of a correct data signals detection and decoding in MB-OFDM UWB is reduced by narrowband interference (NBI). A more specific problem of severity arises when interferences are pr...
