Downlink Channel Allocation Scheme deploying Cooperative Channel Monitoring for Cognitive Cellular-FemtocellNetworks

چکیده
Cognitive cellular-femtocell networks are considered as future mobile communication networks which can satisfy challenging requirements of current mobile communications including high user density, quality of service (QoS) provision and efficient spectrum utilization. In this paper, we present a novel downlink channel allocation scheme which allocates downlink channels to new connection requests of realtime connections in cognitive cellular-femtocell networks. In the scheme, a cognitive femtocell access point (CFAP) cooperates with other 2-hop neighbor CFAPs to establish a cooperative channel monitoring group for monitoring and exchanging information of channel occupancy among the CFAPs belonging to the group. Upon receiving a new connection request from a femtocell user (FU), the serving CFAP uses the information of channel occupancy updated from neighboring CFAPs and interference level of channels to allocate a channel, which is expected to cause the minimum interference to macro users (MUs) of the covering macro base station (MBS). Simulation results prove that the proposed scheme can provide better performance than the conventional downlink channel allocation scheme which does not exploit the cooperation of CFAPs in channel monitoring. On Joint Sub-channel Allocation, Duplexing Mode Selection, and Power Control in Full-Duplex Co-Channel Femtocell Networks
As one of the promising approaches to increase the network capacity, Full-duplex (FD) communications have recently gained a remarkable attention. FD communication enables wireless nodes to simultaneously send and receive data through the same frequency band. Thanks to the recent achievements in the self-interference (SI) cancellation, this type of communication is expected to be potentially uti...
متن کاملDownlink Cooperative Transmission by Superposition Modulation: Performance Analysis and Power Allocation Strategy
In this paper, we proposed 2 new downlink cooperative transmission strategies based on superposition modulations: Scheme (a), QPSK superimposed modulation and scheme (b), orthogonal 4-PAM superimposed modulation. In both schemes, Rayleigh fading and path loss effect are introduced into channel model. We analyzed the symbol error rate (SER) performances and derived their theoretical expressions....
متن کاملDownlink Channel Assignment and Power Control for Cognitive Radio Networks Using Game Theory
We consider a cognitive radio network in which a set of base stations make opportunistic spectrum access to support cognitive radios within their cells. As the spectrum of interest is licensed to the operator of a primary network, channel assignment and power control must be carried out in the cognitive network so that no excessive interference is caused to users of the primary network. Given t...
متن کاملOptimal Power Allocation for Multichannel Cognitive Radio Systems Using Stackelberg Game
We consider a non-orthogonal multiple access scheme e.g. CDMA based cellular multi-channel cognitive radio network (CRN). Here multiple secondary users share a common set of channels simultaneously. For such an environment, we develop a distributed power allocation approach based on a game theoretic formulation among secondary users to satisfy their rate requirement. We model the problem using ...
متن کاملDistributed Multi-Cell Zero-Forcing Beamforming in Cellular Downlink Channels
For a multiple-input single-output (MISO) downlink channel with M transmit antennas, it has been recently proved that zero-forcing beamforming (ZFBF) to a subset of (at most) M “semiorthogonal” users is optimal in terms of sum-rate, asymptotically with the number of users. However, determining the subset of users for transmission is a complex optimization problem. Adopting the ZFBF scheme in a ...
