The Spectrum of Transposition of the Great Arteries With Specific Reference to Developmental Anatomy of the Conus By DANIEL
نویسنده
چکیده
One hundred and sixty five cases of various types of transposition complexes were studied. Based on this and on recent studies of the embryology of the conotruncus, the following observations were made. Regardless of their relations with the ventricles, the semilunar valves may show d-transposition or i-transposition. In the situs solitus heart, the d-type of semilunar transposition is found in the bulboventricular heart, double outlet right ventricle type II, Taussig-Bing malformation, complete transposition of the great arteries, and double outlet left ventricle. This type of transposition of the great arteries results from lack of conotruncal inversion and the differences between the various entities are manifestations of varying degrees of leftward shift of the conoventricular junction and conal absorption. In i-transposition, the conotruncus rotates in the wrong direction. This may occur as an isolated process as in anatomic corrected transposition of the great arteries or with i-looping as in physiologic corrected transposition. Conal absorption and conoventricular shift account for the various entities in each of these two groups of 1-transposition. It is proposed that the term transposition of the great arteries should refer only to the mutual interrelationships of the semilunar valves regardless of their ventricular origin.

متن کاملA 33-day-old Infant with the Transposition of the Great Arteries; A Rare Case Report
Dextro-transposition of the great arteries (d-TGA) is the one most common cyanotic congenital heart disease in neonates. The discordant ventriculoarterial arrangement results in parallel circulation, it so is vital to understand the management. We report a rare interesting but critical case of 33-day-old boy who developed cyanosis and had transposition of great arteries combined with interrupte...
متن کاملبررسی الگوهای شریان کرونری در جمعیتی از نوزادان مبتلا به جابجایی شریان های بزرگ
Background and purpose: Nowadays cardiovascular developments in pumping of heart-lung and improvements in anesthesia care, including intubation, have made early surgical intervention possible to correct life-threatening congenital anatomic abnormalities in patients of lower ages. This study was performed to evaluate the coronary artery patterns in neonates with transposition of the great arteri...

متن کاملPlastination of Upper And Lower Limbs with Injection of Colored Polymer into the Arteries
Purpose: Plastination is a unique technique of tissue preservation developed by Dr Gunther von hagnes in Hidelberg, Germany in 1978. In this process water and lipids are replaced by curable polymers (silicon, polyester, epoxy) which are subsequently hardened, resulting in dry, odorless and durable specimens. The aim of this study was to prepare plastinated specimen of upper and lower limbs by i...
