Application of Evolutionary Algorithms to Protein Folding Prediction

چکیده

The aim of the present paper is to show how evolutionary algorithms can be applied to protein folding prediction. We start reviewing previous similar approaches that we criticize emphasizing the key issue of representation. A new evolutionary algorithm is described, based on the notion of distance matrix representation, together with a software package that implements it. Finally, experimental results are discussed.
