چکیده

The new approach to modal parameter identification, presented in this paper, uses an asymptotically stable observer to form a discrete state-space model for a wind turbine structure. The identification is per formed using input-output time-series. A special software package developed in this research has been tested using the data generated by the ADAMS1 model of the Micon 65/13 wind turbine structure. Numerical and graphical presentation of some of the results, generated by the programs developed, illus trates the range of their applicability.

Subspace-Based Identification Techniques for a ‘Smart’ Wind Turbine Rotor Blade: A Study Towards Adaptive Data-Driven Control

More cost-effective wind turbines with higher rated power, are desired to emerge in the near future. The current trend in wind energy is for this reason the increase of the wind turbine dimensions. Increasing their size is however strongly limited by the rotor blades structural integrity towards occurring aeroelastic loads, especially with respect to blade fatigue. Advanced (re)active load redu...

System Identification for the Clipper Liberty C96 Wind Turbine A THESIS SUBMITTED TO THE FACULTY OF THE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA BY Daniel Showers IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE OF MASTER OF SCIENCE

System identification techniques are powerful tools that help improve modeling capabilities of real world dynamic systems. These techniques are well established and have been successfully used on countless systems in many areas. However, wind turbines provide a unique challenge for system identification because of the difficulty in measuring its primary input: wind. This thesis first motivates ...

Fuzzy gain-scheduled active fault-tolerant control of a wind turbine

Advanced fault detection and accommodation schemes are required for ensuring efficient and reliable operation of modern wind turbines. This paper presents a novel approach in designing a fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) and fault-tolerant control (FTC) scheme for a wind turbine using fuzzy modeling, identification and control techniques. First, an improved gain-scheduled proportional-integra...

Identification of Wind Turbine using Fractional Order Dynamic Neural Network and Optimization Algorithm

In this paper, an efficient technique is presented to identify a 2500 KW wind turbine operating in Kahak wind farm, Qazvin province, Iran. This complicated system dealing with wind behavior is identified by using a proposed fractional order dynamic neural network (FODNN) optimized with evolutionary computation. In the proposed method, some parameters of FODNN are unknown during the process of i...

Application of operational modal analysis and blind source separation / Independent component analysis techniques to wind turbines (bn0562)

Wind turbines are complex structures and their dynamics vary significantly in operation, in comparison to that under stand still (parked) conditions. Presence of rotational loads and considerable aeroelastic effects makes it difficult to apply conventional system identification techniques to wind turbines. Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) is a technique of determining dynamic characteristics of...
