An application of Ramsey theorem to stopping games

چکیده
We prove that every two-player nonzero-sum deterministic stopping game with uniformly bounded payoffs admits an ε-equilibrium, for every ε > 0. The proof uses Ramsey Theorem that states that for every coloring of a complete infinite graph by finitely many colors there is a complete infinite subgraph which is monochromatic. 2002 Elsevier Science (USA). Two Player Non Zero-sum Stopping Games in Discrete Time
We prove that every two player non zero-sum stopping game in discrete time admits an -equilibrium in randomized strategies, for every > 0. We use a stochastic variation of Ramsey Theorem, which enables us to reduce the problem to that of studying properties of -equilibria in a simple class of stochastic games with finite state space.
متن کاملA stochastic Ramsey theorem
A stochastic extension of Ramsey’s theorem is established. Any Markov chain generates a filtration relative to which one may define a notion of stopping time. A stochastic colouring is any fc-valued (k < oo) colour func tion defined on all pairs consisting of a bounded stopping time and a finite partial history of the chain truncated before this stopping time. For any bounded stopping time 6 a...
متن کاملAn Exact Ramsey Principle for Block Sequences
We prove an exact, i.e., formulated without ∆-expansions, Ramsey principle for infinite block sequences in vector spaces over countable fields where the two sides of the dichotomic principle are represented by respectively winning strategies in Gowers’ block sequence game and winning strategies in the infinite asymptotic game. This allows us to recover Gowers’ dichotomy theorem for block sequen...
متن کاملSelection of a correlated equilibrium in Markov stopping games
This paper deals with an extension of the concept of correlated strategies to Markov stopping games. The Nash equilibrium approach to solving nonzero-sum stopping games may give multiple solutions. An arbitrator can suggest to each player the decision to be applied at each stage based on a joint distribution over the players’ decisions according to some optimality criterion. This is a form of e...
متن کاملZero-sum Dynamic Games and a Stochastic Variation of Ramsey Theorem
We show how a stochastic variation of Ramsey theorem can be used to prove the existence of the value, and to construct ε-optimal strategies, in two-player zero-sum dynamic games that have certain properties.
