چکیده
Methods We retrospectively screened the data of 173 consecutive adult liver transplant recipients who received their grafts at Başkent University Transplant Center from January 2005 through March 2015. Among them patients admitted to ICU were included for the analysis. ARF was defined as severe dyspnea, respiratory distress, decreased oxygen saturation (< 92%), hypoxemia (PaO2< 60mmHg) or hypercapnia (PaCO2>60mmHg) on room air or requirement of noninvasive or invasive mechanical ventilation. Demographic, clinical and laboratory data were collected. Model for End-stage Liver Disease (MELD), Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE II) and Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) scores at ICU admission and lengths of ICU, hospital stay and mortality were assessed.

The combination of MELD score and ICG liver testing predicts length of stay in the ICU and hospital mortality in liver transplant recipients
BACKGROUND Early prediction of outcome would be useful for an optimal intensive care management of liver transplant recipients. Indocyanine green clearance can be measured non-invasively by pulse spectrophometry and is closely related to liver function. METHODS This study was undertaken to assess the predictive value of a combination of the model of end stage liver disease (MELD) score and ea...

Patients and Methods Prospective observational study of all consecutive patients with haematologic malignancies admitted to the ICU. Patients had been undergone to an HSCT or not. Period: December 2012 through April 2014. Variables that were analyzed included: demographics haematological disease, stage of the haematological disease, main reason for admission to the ICU, severity of illness (APA...

Methods We retrospectively screened 540 consecutive adult recipients who received their grafts in a single transplant center from 01/2005-03/2015. Among them, patients admitted to ICU during this period were included for the analysis of those with ARF defined as severe dyspnea, respiratory distress, decreased SpO2 (< 92%), hypoxemia (PaO2< 60mmHg) or hypercapnia (PaCO2>60mmHg) on room air or re...
متن کاملOutcome of lung transplant patients admitted to the medical ICU.
INTRODUCTION Lung transplantation is an acceptable treatment option for end-stage lung disease. Short-term survival has improved, but lung transplant recipients remain at high risk for a variety of complications that can necessitate care in an ICU. Little is known about the epidemiology, clinical outcomes, and risk factors for survival among lung transplant recipients admitted to the ICU. MET...
متن کاملMortality Predictors in Renal Transplant Recipients with Severe Sepsis and Septic Shock
INTRODUCTION The growing number of renal transplant recipients in a sustained immunosuppressive state is a factor that can contribute to increased incidence of sepsis. However, relatively little is known about sepsis in this population. The aim of this single-center study was to evaluate the factors associated with hospital mortality in renal transplant patients admitted to the intensive care u...
