Low Temperature Superfluid Response of High-tc Superconductors

چکیده

We have reviewed our theoretical and experimental results of the low temperature superfluid response function ρs of high temperature superconductors (HTSC). In clean high-Tc materials the in-plane superfluid density ρ ab s varies linearly with temperature. The slope of this linear T term is found to scale approximately with 1/Tc which, according to the weak coupling BCS theory for a d-wave superconductor, implies that the gap amplitude scales approximately with Tc. A T 5 behavior of the out-of-plane superfluid density ρs for clean tetragonal HTSC was predicted and observed experimentally in the single layer Hg-compound HgBa2CuO4+δ. In other tetragonal high-Tc compounds with relatively high anisotropy, such as Hg2Ba2Ca2Cu3O8+δ, ρ c s varies as T 2 due to disorder effects. In optimally doped YBa2Cu3O7−δ, ρ c s varies linearly with temperature at low temperatures, but in underdoped YBa2Cu3O7−δ , ρ c s varies as T 2 at low temperatures; these results are consistent with our theoretical calculations.

Conductivity due to classical phase fluctuations in a model for high-Tc superconductors

We consider the real part of the conductivity, s1;aa(v), arising from classical phase fluctuations in high-Tc superconductors. We show that *0 s1;aadvÞ0 below the superconducting transition temperature Tc , provided there is some quenched disorder in the system. Furthermore, for a fixed amount of quenched disorder, this integral at low temperatures is proportional to the zero-temperature superf...

Classical Phase Fluctuations in High Temperature Superconductors

Phase fluctuations of the superconducting order parameter play a larger role in the cuprates than in conventional BCS superconductors because of the low superfluid density rs of a doped insulator. In this paper, we analyze an XY model of classical phase fluctuations in the high temperature superconductors using a low temperature expansion and Monte Carlo simulations. In agreement with experimen...

Quasiparticles and Phase Fluctuations in High Tc Superconductors

We argue based on theoretical considerations and analysis of experimental data that quasiparticle excitations near the nodes determine the low temperature properties in the superconducting state of cuprates. Quantum effects of phase fluctuations are shown to be quantitatively important, but thermal effects are small for T ≪ Tc. An anisotropic superfluid Fermi liquid phenomenology is presented f...

Enhancement of the finite-frequency superfluid response in the pseudogap regime of strongly disordered superconducting films

The persistence of a soft gap in the density of states above the superconducting transition temperature Tc, the pseudogap, has long been thought to be a hallmark of unconventional high-temperature superconductors. However, in the last few years this paradigm has been strongly revised by increasing experimental evidence for the emergence of a pseudogap state in strongly-disordered conventional s...

What Can We Learn from Comparison between Cuprates and He Films ? : Phase Separation and Fluctuating Superfluidity

In the underdoped, overdoped, Zn-doped or stripe-forming regions of high-Tc cuprate superconductors (HTSC), the superfluid density ns/m∗ at T → 0 shows universal correlations with Tc. Similar strong correlations exist between 2dimensional superfluid density and superfluid transition temperature in thin films of He in non-porous or porous media, and He/He film adsorbed on porous media. Based on ...
