Non - Destructive Measurements for Robust Technologies

Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) has become an inseparable part of modern society. Be it the field of engineering, technology, or healthcare, NDE is being used right from cradle to tomb to optimize processes, manage quality, predict the life and limit liability avoiding accidents. While NDE science and technology was qualitative during the first half of 20 century, the liberalisation of economies, reduced margins of safety and stringency of specifications during the second half of the 20 century has spurred the development and growth of quantitative NDE. Measurements form the heart of inspection and quantitative NDE. By making the right measurements at the right points and at the right time in the product life cycle where it can support the most significant decisions i.e. the specifications used to ensure fitness for purpose, one can ensure excellence in quality and global product acceptability.
