چکیده

A novel space-time adaptive near-far robust code-synchronization array detector for asynchronous DS-CDMA systems is developed in this paper. There are the same basic requirements that are needed by the conventional matched filter of an asynchronous DS-CDMA system. For the real-time applicability, a computationally efficient architecture of the proposed detector is developed that is based on the concept of the multistage Wiener filter (MWF) of Goldstein and Reed. This multistage technique results in a self-synchronizing detection criterion that requires no inversion or eigendecomposition of a covariance matrix. As a consequence, this detector achieves a complexity that is only a linear function of the size of antenna array (J), the rank of the MWF (M), the system processing gain (N), and the number of samples in a chip interval (S), that is, O(JMNS). The complexity of the equivalent detector based on the minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) or the subspace-based eigenstructure analysis is a function of O((JNS)3). Moreover, this multistage scheme provides a rapid adaptive convergence under limited observation-data support. Simulations are conducted to evaluate the performance and convergence behavior of the proposed detector with the size of the J-element antenna array, the amount of the L-sample support, and the rank of theM-stage MWF. The performance advantage of the proposed detector over other DS-CDMA detectors is investigated as well.

Code timing acquisition using an antenna array for asynchronous DS-CDMA systems in a near-far environment

In this paper, an adaptive near-far resistant detector using a multiple antennas for acquiring synchronization of an asynchronous DS-CDMA system is presented. The only requirement is the prior knowledge of the user-spreading sequence of interest. Also, there is no need of a training sequence and a training period. Synchronization acquisition of asynchronous DS-CDMA signals is treated as a binar...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

A Novel Multi-user Detection Approach on Fluctuations of Autocorrelation Estimators in Non-Cooperative Communication

Recently, blind multi-user detection has become an important topic in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) signals are well-known due to their low probability of detection, and secure communication. In this article, the problem of blind multi-user detection is studied in variable processing gain direct-sequence code division multiple access (VPG D...

Joint space-time auxiliary-vector filtering for DS/CDMA systems with antenna arrays

Direct-sequence/code-division multiple-access (DS/CDMA) communication systems equipped with adaptive antenna arrays offer the opportunity for jointly effective spatial and temporal (code) multiple-access interference (MAI) and channel noise suppression. This work focuses on the development of fast joint space–time (S–T) adaptive optimization procedures that may keep up with the fluctuation rate...
