Hemodynamics effects of adrecizumab in sepsis rat
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction Sepsis and septic shock still represent major health issues, with persisting high morbidity and mortality rates in critically ill patients. Cardiac dysfunction [1] occurs frequently during severe sepsis. Adrenomedullin (ADM) has been identified as a key mediator in vascular tone regulation[]. A newly developed anti-ADM antibody Adrecizumab (ADZ) may improve hemodynamic dysfunction during resuscitated murine, cecal ligation and puncture (CLP)-induced septic shock [2].

Assessment of renal hemodynamic toxicity of fluid challenge with 0.9% NaCl compared to balanced crystalloid (PlasmaLyte®) in a rat model with severe sepsis
BACKGROUND According to international guidelines, volume expansion with crystalloids is the first-line treatment for hemodynamic management in patients with severe sepsis or septic shock. Compared to balanced crystalloids, 0.9% sodium chloride (0.9% NaCl) induces hyperchloremia and metabolic acidosis and may alter renal hemodynamics and function. We compared the effects of 0.9% NaCl to a less c...
متن کاملAdrenomedullin and Adrenomedullin-Targeted Therapy As Treatment Strategies Relevant for Sepsis
Sepsis remains a major medical challenge, for which, apart from improvements in supportive care, treatment has not relevantly changed over the last few decades. Vasodilation and vascular leakage play a pivotal role in the development of septic shock, with vascular leakage being caused by disrupted endothelial integrity. Adrenomedullin (ADM), a free circulating peptide involved in regulation of ...
متن کاملEffects of lipopolysaccharide-induced septic shock on rat isolated kidney, possible role of nitric oxide and protein kinase C pathways
Objective(s): Pathophysiology of sepsis-associated renal failure (one of the most common cause of death in intensive care units) had not been fully determined. The effect of nitric oxide and protein kinase C (PKC) pathways in isolated kidney of Lipopolysaccharide-treated (LPS) rats were investigated in this study. Materials and Methods: Vascular responsiveness to phenylephrine and acetylcholine...
متن کاملNephrotoxicity of Isosorbide Dinitrate and Cholestasis in Rat: The Possible Role of Nitric Oxide
Background: Nitric oxide (NO), a major chemical form of endothelium-derived relaxing factor and an important regulator of vascular tone, is released by endothelial cells. The role of NO is not restricted to the vascular system, and it participates in the regulation of renal hemodynamics and renal excretory function. There are increasing evidences indicating that the elevated levels of NO play a...
متن کاملEffect of endotoxemia on heart rate dynamics in rat isolated perfused hearts
Introduction: Beat-to-beat variation in heart rate shows a complex dynamics, and this complexity is changed during systemic inflammatory response syndrome (e.g. sepsis). It is not known whether or not cardiac pacemaker dynamical rhythm is affected by sepsis. The aim of this study was to investigate heart rate dynamics of isolated heart as well as expression of pacemaker channels (HCN) in a r...
