Review Of Measured Transport Properties Of Domain Walls In Magnetic Nanowires And Films

چکیده

Existing data for soft magnetic materials of critical current for domain-wall motion, wall speed driven by a magnetic field, and wall electrical resistance, show that all three observable properties are related through a single parameter: the wall mobility μ. The reciprocal of μ represents the strength of viscous friction between domain wall and conduction-electron gas. And μ is a function of the wall width, which depends in turn on the aspect ratio t/w, where t and w are the thickness and width of the sample. Over four orders of magnitude of μ, the data for nanowires show μ ∝ (t/w). This dependence is in approximate agreement with the prediction of the 1984 Berger theory based on s-d exchange. Magnetic Properties of Ni0.3Fe0.7 Alloy Nanowires

The effect of length variation on the magnetic properties of NiFe alloy nanowires electrodeposited into the alumina template was investigated. The diameter (45±2.5 nm) and length (~ 1.9, 7.12, 8.3, 9.5 and 13.3 µm) of the nanowires were estimated from scanning electron microscopy images. Energy dispersive spectroscopy results showed Ni3Fe7 composition of the alloy nanowire...

Quantum Interference Control of Ballistic Magneto- resistance in a Magnetic Nanowire Containing Two Atomic- Size Domain Walls

The magnetoresistance of a one-dimensional electron gas in a metallic ferromagnetic nanowire containing two atomic-size domain walls has been investigated in the presence of spin-orbit interaction. The magnetoresistance is calculated in the ballistic regime, within the Landauer-Büttiker formalism. It has been demonstrated that the conductance of a magnetic nanowire with double domain walls...

Magnetic anisotropies and coupling mechanisms in Fe/Mo(110) nanostripes.

Using low-temperature (5 K) spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy, we have studied the morphology and magnetic properties of monolayer (ML) and double layer (DL) thick Fe nanowires grown by step flow on a Mo(110) single crystal. Magnetic contrast has been obtained using tungsten tips covered by Au/Co thin films. We find that the DL Fe nanowires, similarly to ML Fe nanowires, are perpendi...

Domain wall resistance in (Co/Pt)10-nanowires

– The clear separation of the domain wall magnetoresistance from the anisotropic magnetoresistance has been successfully achieved by investigating the transversal magnetoresistance of individual (Co/Pt)10-nanowires. Since the magnetic easy axis of this nanowires is out of plane, the magnetization is always perpendicular to the current direction when applying a magnetic field transversally. Most...
