چکیده

Let {Xk, k ≥ 1} be a sequence of independent, identically distributed nonnegative random variables with common distribution function F and finite expectation μ > 0. Under the assumption that the tail probability F(x) = 1−F(x) is consistently varying as x tends to infinity, this paper investigates precise large deviations for both the partial sums Sn and the random sums SN(t), where N(·) is a counting process independent of the sequence {Xk, k ≥ 1}. The obtained results improve some related classical ones. Applications to a risk model with negatively associated claim occurrences and to a risk model with a doubly stochastic arrival process (extended Cox process) are proposed.

Precise Large Deviations for Sums of Random Variables with Consistently Varying Tails in Multi-risk Models

Assume that there are k types of insurance contracts in an insurance company. The ith related claims are denoted by {Xij , j ≥ 1}, i = 1, . . . , k. In this paper we investigate large deviations for both partial sums S(k; n1, . . . , nk) = ∑ki=1 ∑ni j=1 Xij and random sums S(k; t) = ∑ki=1 ∑Ni(t) j=1 Xij , whereNi(t), i = 1, . . . , k, are counting processes for the claim number. The obtained re...

Precise Large Deviations of Random Sums in Presence of Negative Dependence and Consistent Variation

The study of precise large deviations for random sums is an important topic in insurance and finance. In this paper, we extend recent results of Tang (2006) and Liu (2009) to random sums in various situations. In particular, we establish a precise large deviation result for a nonstandard renewal risk model in which innovations, modelled as real-valued random variables, are negatively dependent ...

Precise large deviations for widely orthant dependent random variables with different distributions

Let [Formula: see text] be a sequence of random variables with different distributions [Formula: see text]. The partial sums are denoted by [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]. This paper mainly investigates the precise large deviations of [Formula: see text], for the widely orthant dependent random variables [Formula: see text]. Under some mild conditions, the lower and upper bounds of th...

Henrik Hult , Filip Lindskog and Thomas Mikosch : Functional large deviations for multivariate regularly varying random walks

We extend classical results by A.V. Nagaev (1969) on large deviations for sums of iid regularly varying random variables to partial sum processes of iid regularly varying vectors. The results are stated in terms of a heavy-tailed large deviation principle on the space of càdlàg functions. We illustrate how these results can be applied to functionals of the partial sum process, including ruin pr...

Insensitivity to Negative Dependence of the Asymptotic Behavior of Precise Large Deviations

Since the pioneering works of C.C. Heyde, A.V. Nagaev, and S.V. Nagaev in 1960’s and 1970’s, the precise asymptotic behavior of large-deviation probabilities of sums of heavy-tailed random variables has been extensively investigated by many people, but mostly it is assumed that the random variables under discussion are independent. In this paper, we extend the study to the case of negatively de...
