چکیده

We describe the architecture, algorithms, and experiments with HERB, an autonomous mobile manipulator that performs useful manipulation tasks in the home. We present new algorithms for searching for objects, learning to navigate in cluttered dynamic indoor scenes, recognizing and registering objects accurately in high clutter using vision, manipulating doors and other constrained objects using caging grasps, grasp planning and execution in clutter, and manipulation on pose and torque constraint manifolds. We also present numerous severe real-world test results from S.S. Srinivasa ( ) · D. Ferguson · C.J. Robot Motion Planning with Trajectory Wide Constraints

Project Description At Carnegie Mellon University’s Personal Robotics Lab, we aim to create algorithms that enable robots to seamlessly and autonomously collaborate with and around people in human-centric environments, such as the home. One of the many challenges in creating this future is giving our robots the skill set to perform many of the tasks we do on a daily basis, from the simple to th...

Exploring Parental Motivations, Attitudes, and Home Literacy Practices Towards Bilingualism

This study embarks upon uncovering the probable relationships between Iranian parents’ attitudes, motivations, and home literacy practices (HLP) towards bilingualism, Persian and English. To undertake the study, sixty-eight parents of young language learners (YLLs) were asked to fill up a survey questionnaire. The questionnaire aimed to uncover parental attitudes, motivation, and the types of H...

Safe Motion Planning for Imprecise Robotic Manipulators by Minimizing Probability of Collision

Robotic manipulators designed for home assistance and new surgical procedures often have significant uncertainty in their actuation due to compliance requirements, cost constraints, and size limits. We introduce a new integrated motion planning and control algorithm for robotic manipulators that makes safety a priority by explicitly considering the probability of unwanted collisions. We first p...
