Wage Mobility: Do Institutions Make a Difference? A Replication Study Comparing Portugal and the UK This study compares wage mobility in Portugal and the UK, replicating the work by Dickens (2000) and progressing to discuss the impact of differences in the institutional framework, which is more regulated and centralized in Portugal, with minimum wages, employment protection, and collective bargaining widely applied. Results indicate that both countries became more unequal and less mobile labour markets, having departed from similar levels in mid-80s. The evidence does not support the idea that a more regulated institutional framework reduces individual mobility within the wage distribution. JEL Classification: J31, J60

Do Labour Market Institutions Matter? Micro-Level Wage Effects of International Outsourcing in Three European Countries This paper studies the impact of outsourcing on individual wages in three European countries with markedly different labour market institutions: Germany, the UK and Denmark. Lactatingdairy cows (n=177) fed with grass and corn silage ad libitum kept in pasture, were randomly assigned to evaluate how urea nitrogen in plasma and milk can be related to their pregnancy rate. Blood and milk samples were collected on the artificial insemination (AI) day to evaluate plasma urea nitrogen (PUN) and milk urea nitrogen (MUN) as well as progesterone levels, excluding cows with ...
متن کاملA comparative study between two numerical solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations
The present study aimed to investigate two numerical solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations. For this purpose, the mentioned flow equations were written in two different formulations, namely (i) velocity-pressure and (ii) vorticity-stream function formulations. Solution algorithms and boundary conditions were presented for both formulations and the efficiency of each formulation was investiga...

The Gender Wage Gap in Four Countries In a series of studies written during the 1980s Bob Gregory and his co-authors compared the gender wage gap in Australia with that found in other countries. They found it was not the difference in human capital endowments that explained different gender wage gaps but rather the rewards for these endowments. They concluded that country-specific factors, espe...
