Service Level Agreement Enforcement for Differentiated Services
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper describes a hierarchical architecture of active policies [1] that performs the management of a differentiated services (DiffServ) network. These policies monitor quality of service (QoS) parameters and dynamically optimize some aspects of the existing equipment and services to provide the best possible QoS to users. This helps the enforcement of Service Level Agreements (SLA) between provider and users. The results presented were obtained with NS2 network simulator [2], for a 15-node network, with three traffic classes: Expedited Forwarding (EF), Assured Forwarding (AF) and Best Effort (BE). The results show that the use of active policies improves the service offered to users, by constantly adapting to the network state, and helping to fulfill SLAs with minimum costs to the service provider.

This report describes a resource trading architecture for differentiated services (diffserv) with statistical guarantees that includes routing decisions in the trading process. In this sense it is closely related to bandwidth broker models for diffserv and quality of service routing systems for non-cooperative networks (i.e. exterior gateway protocols). متن کاملA Dynamic Priority Allocation Scheme of Messages for Differentiated Web Services Satisfying Service Level Agreement
Recently many enterprises are adopting web services as the standard between heterogeneous software in the XML message based distributed environment to carry out businesses from B2C to B2B. For effective application of web services, differentiated service quality must be guaranteed. However, majority of the current web services do not differentiate quality of messages and the current web servers...

متن کاملAn Efficient Call Admission Control for Hard Real Time Communication in Differentiated Services Network
In this paper we study hard real time (HRT) communication over a differentiated service network. Differentiated Services was proposed by IETF as a scalable QoS architecture [1]. Diffserv service providers can provide delay and bandwidth guaranteed service (as per service level agreement (SLA)) by implementing diffserv services with a fair packet scheduling algorithm like WFQ. But this QoS is pr...
