چکیده

For the last years three-dimensional ultrasonography has become an imaging diagnosis method of great importance in obstetrics. One of its advantages would be the higher sensitivity compared with two-dimensional ultrasound in the diagnosis of some fetal malformations. The potential applications of this new method would be an improved accuracy in the measurement of fetal organs, the possibility of reviewing volumes in the absence of the patient, and using different planes to assess specific anatomical structures, as well as the capacity to transfer data files to remote reference centers. Ultrasonographic evaluation of fetal cerebellum is particularly important, since developmental alterations are correlated with the fetal growth alterations and congenital anomalies. The objective of this updating is to demonstrate the VOCALTM and 3D XITM methods in the evaluation of the fetal cerebellum, their potential benefits, and the latest information in the literature about this subject.

Three-dimensional Power Doppler Ultrasonographic Evaluation of Induced Cystitis in Dogs

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate if three-dimensional power Doppler (3DPD) ultrasound (US) can detect bacterial cystitis in dogs better than two-dimensional (2D) US. Animals: Six mixed breed dogs Procedures: Ten ml of 0.1% alcoholic solution of salicylic acid was entered into the urinary bladder of six male mixed-breed dogs by catheter. Twenty four hours later, culture sol...

Use of three-dimensional ultrasonography of the eye and measurement of optical long axis in dog

This study was conducted to determine the use of three-dimensional ultrasonography (3DU) in ocular imaging of the dog and measuring of its optical axis. 12 healthy mixed-breed dogs including 6 males and 6 females were studied. 3DU of the eyes were done using a 5–12 MHz linear trapezoid transducer. 3DU of the eyes were evaluated and the normal optical long axis through a line between the cornea ...
