Connectivity for Multiple Multicast Trees Schemes in Ad Hoc Networks

چکیده
In this paper, we first define level of tree connectivity for multicast routing schemes in wireless ad hoc networks. Then given the level of tree connectivity, we examine the relation between node density required for single and double tree schemes both analytically and experimentally. For high density wireless ad hoc networks and a given level of tree connectivity, our analysis shows that the difference between required node densities for the two schemes is no larger than a logarithm factor of double tree scheme.

QoS Multilayered Multicast Routing Protocol for Video Transmission in Heterogeneous Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
In wireless ad hoc networks, nodes are expected to be heterogeneous with a set of multicast destinations greatly differing in their end devices and QoS requirements. This paper proposes two algorithms for multilayered video multicast over heterogeneous wireless ad hoc networks. The two algorithms are, Multiple Shortest Path Tree (MSPT) and Multiple Steiner Minimum Tree (MSMT). In this paper, we...
متن کاملMultilayered Multicast Algorithms for Ad Hoc Wireless Networks
In this paper, we address the issue of multilayered multicast routing in wireless ad hoc networks (WAHNs). Existing multilayered multicast protocols assume homogeneous ad hoc wireless networks. A more realistic assumption is a heterogeneous network; in which nodes have different processing, communication capabilities and other characteristics. In this paper, we assume heterogeneous network; in ...

The Core-Assisted Mesh Protocol (CAMP) is introduced for multicast routing in ad-hoc networks. CAMP generalizes the notion of core-based trees introduced for internet multicasting into multicast meshes that have much richer connectivity than trees. A shared multicast mesh is defined for each multicast group; the main goal of using such meshes is to maintain the connectivity of multicast groups ...

متن کاملVideo Multicast Over Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
Existing video multicast routing protocols in wireless ad hoc networks have been developed under the assumption that destination nodes wish to receive all the information sent by the multicast source, i.e., they do not support heterogeneous destinations. This paper addresses the problem of video multicast for heterogeneous destinations in wireless ad hoc networks. Multiple Description Coding (M...
