0 − resonance for πNN → πNN in the Skyrme model

چکیده
The scattering of pions on a dibaryon configuration is analyzed within the SU(2) Skyrme model. It is shown that this model leads to a low-lying (J , I) = (0, 2) resonance. The possibility that this resonance corresponds to one proposed recently in the context of double charge exchange pion scattering on nuclei is discussed. Given the setup used in those experiments we also show that a resonance with isospin assignment I = 0 cannot be excited according to the description presented here.

Skyrme-model πNN form factor and nucleon-nucleon interaction
We apply the strong πNN form factor, which emerges from the Skyrme model, in the two-nucleon system using a one-boson-exchange (OBE) model for the nucleon-nucleon (NN) interaction. Deuteron properties and phase parameters of NN scattering are reproduced well. In contrast to the form factor of monopole shape that is traditionally used in OBE models, the Skyrme form factor leaves low momentum tra...

The role of pion degrees of freedom for baryon observables was appreciated in the strong coupling theories of the 1950’s and later formed the basis of the Skyrme model and the chiral bag models. Consideration of the pion loop fluctuations on the baryon level, either within the traditional strong coupling approach or within modern ChPT for baryons reveals several problems: (i) The πNN coupling c...

We study the two point correlation function of two nucleon currents sandwiched between the vacuum and the pion state. The light cone QCD sum rules are derived for the πNN coupling gπNN and the πNN(1535) coupling gπNN∗ . The contribution from the excited states and the continuum is subtracted cleanly through the double Borel transform with respect to the two external momenta, p1, p 2 2 = (p − q)...

How precisely can we determine the πNN coupling constant from the isovector GMO sum rule? Abstract The isovector GMO sum rule for zero energy forward πN scattering is critically studied to obtain the charged πNN coupling constant using the precise π − p and π − d scattering lengths deduced recently from pionic atom experiments. This direct determination leads to g

The sensitivity of the deuteron and of pp scattering to the πNN and ρNN coupling constants is investigated systematically. We find that the deuteron can be described about equally well with either large π and ρ or small π and ρ coupling constants. However, pp scattering clearly requires the strong ρ, but favors the weak π (particularly, in 3P0 at low energies). This apparent contradiction betwe...
