چکیده
We wish to report the study of the antimicrobial activity of plants collected in the vicinity of a geothermal area in Perak, Malaysia. This is the first report of these species in the vicinity of thextis geothermal area. The plants are Cleome locally known as Maman Pasir of the family Cleomaceae, and icosandra, species of the family Lamiaceae. Both are subshrubs and are Stachytarpheta believed to have specific biological activities as a result of living in such extreme areas. Methanol extracts of both plants revealed no antimicrobial activity against , and Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus Pseudomonas . aeruginosa Yuhanis Mhd Bakri ( ) Corresponding author: [email protected] : Conceptualization, Funding Acquisition, Investigation, Methodology, Project Administration, Resources, Visualization, Author roles: Mhd Bakri Y Writing – Original Draft Preparation, Writing – Review & Editing; : Conceptualization, Resources; : Writing – Syed Abd Azizz SS Abdul Talib M Original Draft Preparation, Writing – Review & Editing; : Investigation Mohamed F Competing interests: No competing interests were disclosed. متن کاملExpression and antimicrobial activity analysis of dermaseptin B1 recombinant peptides in tobacco transgenic plants
Recently, new molecular breeding and genetic engineering approaches have emerged to overcome the limitations of conventional breeding methods in generating disease-resistance transgenic plants. The use of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) to produce transgenic plants resistant to a wide range of plant pathogens has achieved great success. Among huge number of AMPs, Dermaseptin B1 (DrsB1), an antimi...
