Equivariant Kähler Geometry and Localization in the G/G Model

چکیده

We analyze in detail the equivariant supersymmetry of the G/G model. In spite of the fact that this supersymmetry does not model the infinitesimal action of the group of gauge transformations, localization can be established by standard arguments. The theory localizes onto reducible connections and a careful evaluation of the fixed point contributions leads to an alternative derivation of the Verlinde formula for the Gk WZW model. We show that the supersymmetry of the G/G model can be regarded as an infinite dimensional realization of Bismut’s theory of equivariant BottChern currents on Kähler manifolds, thus providing a convenient cohomological setting for understanding the Verlinde formula. We also show that the supersymmetry is related to a non-linear generalization (q-deformation) of the ordinary moment map of symplectic geometry in which a representation of the Lie algebra of a group G is replaced by a representation of its group algebra with commutator [g, h] = gh − hg. In the large k limit it reduces to the ordinary moment map of two-dimensional gauge theories. e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: [email protected]

Ring structures of mod p equivariant cohomology rings and ring homomorphisms between them

In this paper, we consider a class of connected oriented (with respect to Z/p) closed G-manifolds with a non-empty finite fixed point set, each of which is G-equivariantly formal, where G = Z/p and p is an odd prime. Using localization theorem and equivariant index, we give an explicit description of the mod p equivariant cohomology ring of such a G-manifold in terms of algebra. This makes ...

We give two generalizations of the Atiyah-Bott-Berline-Vergne lo-calization theorem for the equivariant cohomology of a torus action: 1) replacing the torus action by a compact connected Lie group action, 2) replacing the manifold having a torus action by an equivariant map. This provides a systematic method for calculating the Gysin homomorphism in ordinary co-homology of an equivariant map. A...

A ug 1 99 6 Algebraic cuts

Let X be a projective variety with a linearized action of an algebraic group G. If X is smooth, and the ground field is C, then the geometric invariant theory quotient X//G can be identified with a quotient constructed using symplectic geometry, the “reduced space” Xr. This result, due to Mumford, Guillemin and Sternberg, connects geometric invariant theory and symplectic geometry. Suppose now ...

Indoor Positioning and Pre-processing of RSS Measurements

Rapid expansions of new location-based services signify the need for finding accurate localization techniques for indoor environments. Among different techniques, RSS-based  schemes and in particular oneof its variants which is based on Graph-based Semi-Supervised Learning (G-SSL) are widely-used approaches The superiority of this scheme is that it has low setup/training cost and at the same ti...

Localization operators on homogeneous spaces

Let $G$ be a locally compact group, $H$ be a compact subgroup of $G$ and $varpi$ be a representation of the homogeneous space $G/H$ on a Hilbert space $mathcal H$. For $psi in L^p(G/H), 1leq p leqinfty$, and an admissible wavelet $zeta$ for $varpi$, we define the localization operator $L_{psi,zeta} $ on $mathcal H$ and we show that it is a bounded operator. Moreover, we prove that the localizat...
