A wavelength‐dependent visible and infrared spectrophotometric function for the Moon based on ROLO data

چکیده
[1] The USGS’s Robotic Lunar Observatory (ROLO) dedicated ground‐based lunar calibration project obtained photometric observations of the Moon over the spectral range attainable from Earth (0.347–2.39 mm) and over solar phase angles of 1.55°–97°. From these observations, we derived empirical lunar surface solar phase functions for both the highlands and maria that can be used for a wide range of applications. The functions can be used to correct for the effects of viewing geometry to produce lunar mosaics, spectra, and quick‐look products for future lunar missions and ground‐based observations. Our methodology can be used for a wide range of objects for which multiply scattered radiation is not significant, including all but the very brightest asteroids and moons.

Lunar Mineralogy from Spectral Merging of Rolo Telescopic Data with Clementine
Introduction: Laboratory reflectance measurements of lunar rock powders demonstrate that crystalline lunar materials exhibit very diagnostic absorption features related to sample mineralogy (e.g. [1]). As a result, regoliths exposed at young impact craters are considered important targets for spectral studies of the Moon [2, 3]. However, telescopic spectra of craters small enough to sample indi...
متن کاملWavelength region selection and spectrophotometric simultaneous determination of naphthol isomers based on net analyte signal
Naphthol isomers were simultaneously and spectrophotometrically determined in wastewater, using a model based on net analyte signal (NAS). The calibration method used is a variation of the original hybrid linear analysis method as proposed by Goicoechea and Olivieri (HLA/GO). Owing to spectral interferences, the simultaneous determination of mixtures of naphthol isomers, using a spectrophotomet...
متن کاملApollo Soils Physical Properties Linked to M Spectra Combined with Rolo Photometry
Introduction: The lunar surface consists of a layer of fine particles that are the result of eons of meteorite bombardment called the “regolith”. The Apollo and Luna missions returned many regolith samples, referred to as lunar “soils”, which have been studied in great detail. Because we know that the Moon’s surface is dominated by these small particles, the fundamental physics that determines ...

A simple, economical, precise and fast visible spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of Azathioprine in tablet dosage form. Developed method is based on the formation of extractable colored complex of drug with colouring agent Indigo Carmine and Methyl orange. A wavelength maximum was found to be 683.7 nm and 566 nm. The concentration range of 15-50 μg mL-1 with of ...
متن کاملInfrared Moon imaging for remote sensing of atmospheric smoke layers.
Simultaneous visible and long-wave infrared (IR) images of the Moon were used with a simple energy-balance model to study the spatial pattern of lunar surface temperatures. The thermal images were obtained with a radiometrically calibrated, compact, low-cost, commercial IR camera mounted on a small telescope. Differences between the predicted and measured maximum Moon temperatures were used to ...
