چکیده

We provide a simple example that illustrates the advantage of adaptive over non-adaptive strategies for quantum channel discrimination. In particular, we give a pair of entanglementbreaking channels that can be perfectly discriminated by means of an adaptive strategy that requires just two channel evaluations, but for which no non-adaptive strategy can give a perfect discrimination using any finite number of channel evaluations.

Tracking performance of incremental LMS algorithm over adaptive distributed sensor networks

in this paper we focus on the tracking performance of incremental adaptive LMS algorithm in an adaptive network. For this reason we consider the unknown weight vector to be a time varying sequence. First we analyze the performance of network in tracking a time varying weight vector and then we explain the estimation of Rayleigh fading channel through a random walk model. Closed form relations a...

Interaction of conscious and unconscious mechanisms in coping with chronic pain

Abstract Background and Aim: Patients use various consciousness and unconsciousness mechanisms to deal with pain. the relationship between mature, immature and neurotic defense mechanism with adaptive and non-adaptive emotion regulation strategies was investigated. Materials and Methods: In this correlative study, 200 patients with chronic pain participants in this study from Akhtar and Labaf...

Strong converse exponents for a quantum channel discrimination problem and quantum-feedback-assisted communication

We study the difficulty of discriminating between an arbitrary quantum channel and a “replacer” channel that discards its input and replaces it with a fixed state.1 The results obtained here generalize those known in the theory of quantum hypothesis testing for binary state discrimination. We show that, in this particular setting, the most general adaptive discrimination strategies provide no a...

Adaptive Image Dehazing via Improving Dark Channel Prior

The dark channel prior (DCP) technique is an effective method to enhance hazy images. Dark channel is an image with the same size as the hazy image which represents the haze severity in different places of the image. The DCP method suffers from two problems: it is incapable for removing haze from smooth regions, causing blocking effects on these areas; it cannot properly reduce a haze with a no...

Quantum reading capacity: General definition and bounds

Quantum reading refers to the task of reading out classical information stored in a classical memory. In any such protocol, the transmitter and receiver are in the same physical location, and the goal of such a protocol is to use these devices, coupled with a quantum strategy, to read out as much information as possible from a classical memory, such as a CD or DVD. In this context, a memory cel...
