Differential elastic electron scattering cross sections for CCl4 by 1.5-100 eV energy electron impact.
نویسندگان
چکیده
We report absolute elastic differential, integral and momentum transfer cross sections for electron interactions with CCl(4). The incident electron energy range is 1.5-100 eV, and the scattered electron angular range for the differential measurements varies from 15°-130°. The absolute scale of the differential cross section was set using the relative flow technique with helium as the reference species. Comparison with previous total cross sections shows good agreement. Atomic-like behaviour in this scattering system is shown here for the first time, and is further investigated by comparing the CCl(4) elastic cross sections to recent results on the halomethanes and atomic chlorine at higher impact energies [H. Cross sections for elastic scattering of electrons by CF3Cl, CF2Cl2, and CFCl3.
Differential, integral, and momentum transfer cross sections have been determined for the elastic scattering of electrons from the molecules CF3Cl, CF2Cl2, and CFCl3.With the help of a crossed electron beam-molecular beam apparatus using the relative flow technique, the ratios of the elastic differential cross sections (DCSs) of CF3Cl, CF2Cl2, and CFCl3 to those of He were measured in the energ...
متن کاملLow-energy electron scattering by C2HF5
We report elastic and electronically inelastic cross sections for low-energy electron scattering by pentafluoroethane, C2HF5 . Our calculations were performed using the Schwinger multichannel method. For elastic scattering, we calculated integral, differential, and momentum transfer cross sections for energies from 5 to 50 eV. In the inelastic case, we obtained integral and differential cross s...
متن کاملAbsolute elastic differential cross sections for electron scattering by C6H5CH3 and C6H5CF3 at 1.5–200 eV: A comparative experimental and theoretical study with C6H6
We present absolute differential cross sections DCS for elastic scattering from two benzene derivatives C6H5CH3 and C6H5CF3. The crossed-beam method was used in conjunction with the relative flow technique using helium as the reference gas to obtain absolute values. Measurements were carried out for scattering angles 15° –130° and impact energies 1.5–200 eV. DCS results for these two molecules ...
متن کاملVibrational excitation of water by electron impact
Experimental and calculated differential cross sections DCSs for electron-impact excitation of the 010 bending mode and unresolved 100 symmetric and 001 antisymmetric stretching modes of water are presented. Measurements are reported at incident energies of 1–100 eV and scattering angles of 10° –130° and are normalized to the elastic-scattering DCSs for water determined earlier by our group. Th...
متن کاملExperimental and theoretical elastic cross sections for electron collisions with the C3H6 isomers.
In the present work we report cross sections for electron collisions with the isomers propene (C3H6) and cyclopropane (c-C3H6). Electron-scattering differential cross sections (DCS) are reported for measurements carried out for energies 1.5-100 eV and the angular range of 20 degrees-120 degrees. Elastic integral cross sections (ECS), DCS, and momentum-transfer cross sections (MTCS) are reported...
