!is article o"ers a critical re#ection on the mutually resonant recent works of Clayton Crockett and Je"rey Robbins, both of whom expose “radical theology” as insu$ciently political, “political theology” as insu$ciently radical, and “radical politics” as insu$ciently attuned to theology. In light of these shortcomings, they o"er a radical political theology as a “necessary supplement” to the project of radical democracy—which is to say a politics of, by, and for “the multitude.” !is article tracks the shi%ing and occasionally con#icting contours of this radically democratic theology.
