Multi-level Analysis of Skin/stringer Debonding
نویسندگان
چکیده
A multi-level analysis of skin/stiffener debonding is used to perform the design of fuselage of future aircraft during postbuckling. The “pyramid of test” approach is used both for experimental and numerical analysis (see Fig 1). The analysis begins with nonspecific element (NASA Specimens), then 7 point-bending tests are performed and the approach is finally validated on real panels of an on-going program at Airbus.

MULTI FRACTURE/DELAMINATION ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITES SUBJECTED TO IMPACT LOADINGS
A combined finite/ discrete element method is presented for modelling of composite specimens subjected to dynamic/impact loadings. The main task is set on developing an algorithm for simulation of potential bonding and debonding/delamination phenomena during impact or general dynamic loading conditions. In addition, full fracture analysis can also be performed. The proposed approach adopts a ge...
متن کاملUnderstanding and Assessment of Debonding Failures in FRP-Concrete Systems
Failures in FRP-strengthened reinforced concrete (RC) members may occur by flexural failures of critical sections or by debonding of FRP plate from the RC beams. Debonding in the FRP/adhesive/concrete interface region may cause a significant decrease in member capacity leading to a premature failure of the system. There is a need for improved knowledge of the debonding processes under mechanica...
متن کاملElastic Buckling Analysis of Ring and Stringer-stiffened Cylindrical Shells under General Pressure and Axial Compression via the Ritz Method
Elastic stability of ring and stringer-stiffened cylindrical shells under axial, internal and external pressures is studied using Ritz method. The stiffeners are rings, stringers and their different arrangements at the inner and outer surfaces of the shell. Critical buckling loads are obtained using Ritz method. It has been found that the cylindrical shells with outside rings are more stable th...
متن کاملNumerical Method for Cost-Weight Optimization of Stringer–Skin Panels
The need to integrate cost into the early product definition process as an engineering parameter is addressed. The application studied is a fuselage panel that is typical for commercial transport regional jets. Consequently, a semi-empirical numerical analysis using reference data was coupled to model the structural integrity of thin-walled structures with regard to material failure and bucklin...
متن کاملTest and Analysis of a Composite Multi-bay Fuselage Panel under Uni-axial Compression
A composite panel containing three stringers and two frames cut from a vacuum-assisted resin transfer molded (VaRTM) stitched fuselage article was tested under uni-axial compression loading. The stringers and frames divided the panel into six bays with two columns of three bays each along the compressive loading direction. The two frames were supported at the ends with pins to restrict the out-...
