Nonlinear Control Singular of a Polymerization CSTR with Characteristic Matrix

چکیده
This experimental work concerns the multivariable nonlinear control of a pilotsize continuous polymerization reactor with generically singular characteristic matrix. The control problem is to control conversion and temperature in a continuous stirred tank reactor by manipulating two coordinated flow rates (reactor residence time) and two coordinated heat inputs. A nonlinear controller is synthesized within the framework of theglobally linearizing control ( GLC) method and is implemented on a microcomputer. Conversion is inferred from on-line measurements of density and temperature. A key feature of the control problem is that its characteristic matrix is generically singular. Singularity of the characteristic matrix is handled by using a dynamic input/output linearizing state feedback rather than a static feedback. A reduced-order observer is used to calculate the monomer, initiator, and solvent concentration estimates, which are needed for the calculation of controller action. In the presence of active state and input constraints, the reactor-startup and setpointtracking performance of the controller is evaluated through experimental runs.

A Comparison of Different Control Design Methods for the Linearized CSTR Temperature Model
Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) has particular importance in chemical industry. CSTR has usually a nonlinear behavior which makes it difficult to control. The reactor has two parameters: the concentration and temperature of mixture both of which are uncertain. This case of CSTR has large disturbance in domain. In order for disturbance rejection, a controller has to be designed. In this p...

In this paper, we are discuss about the issue of synchronization for singular complex dynamical networks with Markovian jumping parameters and additive time-varying delays through pinning control by Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy theory. The complex dynamical systems consist of m nodes and the systems switch from one mode to another, a Markovian chain with glorious transition probabili...
متن کاملNumerical solution of a type of weakly singular nonlinear Volterra integral equation by Tau Method
In this paper, a matrix based method is considered for the solution of a class of nonlinear Volterra integral equations with a kernel of the general form $s^{beta}(t-s)^{-alpha}G(y(s))$ based on the Tau method. In this method, a transformation of the independent variable is first introduced in order to obtain a new equation with smoother solution. Error analysis of this method is also ...

A Fault-Tolerant Control (FTC) methodology has been presented for nonlinear processes being imposed by control input constraints. The proposed methodology uses a combination of Feedback Linearization and Model Predictive Control (FLMPC) schemes. The resulting constraints in the transformed process will be dependent on the actual evolving states, making their incorporation in the de...
