An Observation on Highest Weight Crystals

چکیده

As shown in the paper of Stembridge [Ste03], crystal graphs can be characterized by their local behavior. In this paper, we observe that a certain local property on crystals forces a more global property. In type A, this statement says that if a node has a single parent and single grandparent, then there is a unique walk from the highest weight node to it. In other classical types, there is a similar (but necessarily more technical) statement. This walk is obtained from the associated level 1 perfect crystal, B. (It is unique unless the Dynkin diagram contains that of D4 as a subdiagram.) This crystal observation was motivated by representation-theoretic behavior of the affine Hecke algebra of type A, which is known to be captured by highest weight crystals of type A by the results in [Gro]. As discussed below, the proofs in either setting are straightforward, and so Grojnowski’s theorem linking the two phenomena is not needed. However, the result is presented here for crystals as one can say something in all types (Grojnowski’s theorem is only in type A), and because the statement seems more surprising in the language of crystals than it does for affine Hecke algebra modules.

Polyhedral Realization of the Highest Weight Crystals for Generalized Kac-moody Algebras

In this paper, we give a polyhedral realization of the highest weight crystals B(λ) associated with the highest weight modules V (λ) for the generalized Kac-Moody algebras. As applications, we give explicit descriptions of crystals for the generalized Kac-Moody algebras of ranks 2, 3, and Monster algebras.

Higher Level Affine Crystals and Young Walls

Using combinatorics of Young walls, we give a new realization of arbitrary level irreducible highest weight crystals B(λ) for quantum affine algebras of type A (1) n , B (1) n , C (1) n , A (2) 2n−1, A (2) 2n , and D (2) n+1. The irreducible highest weight crystals are realized as the affine crystals consisting of reduced proper Young walls. The notion of slices and splitting of blocks plays a ...

Quantized Affine Algebras and Crystals with Head

Motivated by the work of Nakayashiki on the inhomogeneous vertex models of 6-vertex type, we introduce the notion of crystals with head. We show that the tensor product of the highest weight crystal B(λ) of level k and the perfect crystal Bl of level l is isomorphic to the tensor product of the perfect crystal Bl−k of level l − k and the highest weight crystal B(λ′) of level k.

On the Uniqueness of Promotion Operators on Tensor Products of Type a Crystals

The affine Dynkin diagram of type A (1) n has a cyclic symmetry. The analogue of this Dynkin diagram automorphism on the level of crystals is called a promotion operator. In this paper we show that the only irreducible type An crystals which admit a promotion operator are the highest weight crystals indexed by rectangles. In addition we prove that on the tensor product of two type An crystals l...

Crystals via the Affine Grassmannian

Let G be a connected reductive group over C and let g be the Langlands dual Lie algebra. Crystals for g are combinatoral objects, that were introduced by Kashiwara (cf. for example [5]) as certain “combinatorial skeletons” of finite-dimensional representations of g. For every dominant weight λ of g Kashiwara constructed a crystal B(λ) by considering the corresponding finite-dimensional represen...
