چکیده
A new material, Fe203 supported on high specific surface area Sic, is very efficient for the H2S removal from hot exhaust gas. The specific properties of the silicon carbide allows a very large number of sulfidationJregeneration cycles.

Novel Amine Modified Nanoporous SBA-15 Sorbent for the Removal of H2S from Gas Streams in the Presence of CH4 (RESEARCH NOTE)
A new sorbent has been developed by grafting Hexamethylenetetramine on a mesoporous molecular sieve (SBA-15) by wet impregnation method. This sorbent (Hexamine/SBA-15) has been characterized using N2 physisorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD) at low angles (2θ°) and FT-IR. To investigate the H2S removal capacity of this adsorbent from CH4-containing gas mixtures, the breakthrough tests have been pe...
متن کاملRegenerative adsorption and removal of H2S from hot fuel gas streams by rare earth oxides.
Sorbent materials that allow for high-temperature, regenerative desulfurization of fuel gas streams for the anode of a solid oxide fuel cell have been developed. Reversible adsorption of H2S on cerium and lanthanum oxide surfaces is demonstrated over many cycles at temperatures as high as 800 degrees C, on both fresh or presulfided sorbents, and at very high space velocities. The adsorption and...
متن کاملCharacters of Activated Carbon for Hg Removal of Flue Gas with H2S and Iron Oxide for Hg Removal of Coal Derived Fuel gas with H2S
Introduction The major anthropogenic sources of mercury emission are coal combustion and municipal waste incineration. However, it is very difficult to remove the mercury compounds, particularly elemental mercury vapor, which is not effectively captured in typical air – pollution control devices. It has been reported that activated carbon, particularly activated carbon impregnated with sulfur, ...
متن کاملCopper and Lanthanum Doped Cerium Oxide for Hot Reformate Gas Desulfurization
Hot reformate gas produced by reforming of heavy fuels, such as JP-8, must be desulfurized prior to its use in a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC). This requires development of sorbent materials with high sulfur absorption efficiency and capacity at the SOFC operating temperature (650-800 C) to avoid heat exchanger penalties. Sorbent performance stability in cyclic operation of sulfidation and regen...
متن کاملFacile Regeneration vitreous microfibrous entrapped supported ZnO sorbent with high contacting efficiency for bulk H2S removal from reformate streams in fuel cell applications
In this study, a microfibrous carrier consisting of 3vol% of 8 m (dia.) glass fibers is utilized to entrap 45 vol% of 150-250 m (dia.) SiO2 support particulates. ZnO is then nano-dispersed onto the support by impregnation at the loading of 17 wt%. At equivalent bed volumes, ZnO/SiO2 entrapped materials provide 2-fold longer breakthrough times for H2S (with a 67% reduction in sorbent loading) co...
