چکیده

Mirror neurons, discovered by Rizzolatti et al. in the 1990s , have been the subject of much debate. There are many theories regarding their possible function, both evolutionarily as well as in day to day life. It has been proposed that mirror neurons are the single neuron substrates of the Common Code , which links perceptual and action representations to allow the brain to predict of the outcomes of complex actions. Knoblich et al. have proposed that if this is true, the motor mirror neurons should be better able to predict the outcomes of one's own actions, seen from a third-person perspective, than those of another person. In this study I have replicated their experiment which measures the accuracy with which humans can anticipate outcomes of their own actions, compared with those of others.

The effect of emotional processes on the performance of mirror neuron system in people with ADHD traits

Introduction Mirror neurons play an important role in the understanding of emotional functions. On the other hand, ADHD people are having difficulty understanding both emotional aspects. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the emotional processes on the functioning of the mirror neuron system in people with ADHD traits. Materials and Methods At first, 500 ...

نورون های آینه ای و نقش آن درتقلید و نظریه ی ذهن در کودکان طیف اتیسم

Recent studies have reported the discovery of a group of neurons in the motor cortex of the brain's gray. These neurons are called mirror neurons. Rizzolatti and colleagues in 1990s discovered the first mirror neuron system in monkeys in the University of Parma. Mirror neurons in brain are responsible for understanding the actions and intentions of others. The mirror neuron system has an import...

Self-other relations in social development and autism: multiple roles for mirror neurons and other brain bases.

Mirror neuron system dysfunction may underlie a self-other matching impairment, which has previously been suggested to account for autism. Embodied Cognition Theory, which proposes that action provides a foundation for cognition has lent further credence to these ideas. The hypotheses of a self-other matching deficit and impaired mirror neuron function in autism have now been well supported by ...

Motor Representations for Hand Gesture Recognition and Imitation

We present an approach for grasp recognition and imitation based on models for canonical and mirror neurons, recently found in neurophysiological experiments. Canonical Neurons seem to code object affordances, e.g. possible ways of grasping. Mirror Neurons code goal directed tasks, like precision or power grasping of an object. The major feature of this neuron population is the use of motor inf...

Mirror neuron system based therapy for emotional disorders.

Mirror neuron system (MNS) represents one of the most important discoveries in the area of neuropsychology of past decades. More than 500 papers have been published in this area (PubMed), and the major functions of MNS include action understanding, imitation, empathy, all of which are critical for an individual to be social. Recent studies suggested that MNS can modulate emotion states possibly...
