چکیده

Suppose that the conditional density of a response variable given a vector of explanatory variables is parametrically modelled, and that data are collected by a two-phase sampling design. First, a simple random sample is drawn from the population. The stratum membership in a finite number of strata of the response and explanatory variables is recorded for each unit. Second, a subsample is drawn from the phase-one sample such that the selection probability is determined by the stratum membership. The response and explanatory variables are fully measured at this phase. We synthesize existing results on nonparametric likelihood estimation and present a streamlined approach for the computation and the large sample theory of profile likelihood in four different situations. The amount of information in terms of data and assumptions varies depending on whether the phase-one data are retained, the selection probabilities are known, and/or the stratum probabilities are known. We establish and illustrate numerically the order of efficiency among the maximum likelihood estimators, according to the amount of information utilized, in the four situations. & 2010 Elsevier B.V. Presenting a model for Multiple-step-ahead-Forecasting of volatility and Conditional Value at Risk in fossil energy markets

Fossil energy markets have always been known as strategic and important markets. They have a significant impact on the macro economy and financial markets of the world. The nature of these markets are accompanied by sudden shocks and volatility in the prices. Therefore, they must be controlled and forecasted by using appropriate tools. This paper adopts the Generalized Auto Regressive Condition...

Slice sampling mixture models

We propose a more efficient version of the slice sampler for Dirichlet process mixture models described by Walker (Commun. Stat., Simul. Comput. 36:45–54, 2007). This new sampler allows for the fitting of infinite mixture models with a wide-range of prior specifications. To illustrate this flexibility we consider priors defined through infinite sequences of independent positive random variables...

Maximum likelihood estimation for semiparametric density ratio model.

In the statistical literature, the conditional density model specification is commonly used to study regression effects. One attractive model is the semiparametric density ratio model, under which the conditional density function is the product of an unknown baseline density function and a known parametric function containing the covariate information. This model has a natural connection with g...

Concave Extended Linear Modeling: a Theoretical Synthesis

Extended linear modeling provides a flexible framework for functional estimation problems with multiple covariates. Such problems include ordinary and generalized regression, density and conditional density estimation, hazard regression, spectral density estimation and polychotomous regression. In this paper, we develop a general theory on the rate of convergence of maximum likelihood estimatio...

Comparison of two MPSIAC and MMF models in soil erosion mapping of Ardebil Agh Gouni watershed

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Soil erosion is the most important cause of land degradation and the cause of water loss, soil loss, sedimentation in water resources, and maximum flood intensification (Liu et al., 2019). Models are the most important tools for estimating and mapping of erosion at the watershed level. As the experimental models are dependent on used coefficients and region c...
