چکیده
Histopathological studies were conducted on carp fingerlings of Labeo rohita, Catla catla and Cirrhinus cirrhosus during October 2003 to May 2004 from fish farms of Mymensingh area. Monthly samplings were done with 10 fish from each species with the help of seine net. Skin, muscle, gill and liver were collected, processed and stained in Haematoxylin and Eosin. Histologically carp fingerlings of different fish farms were more affected in colder months by protozoans, monogenean, bacterial and fungal pathogens. Pathological changes like necrosis, fungal granuloma, protozoan cyst, vacuolation, melanomacrophase, haemorrhage, hypertrophy, hyperplasia and clubbing were recorded in all the investigated organs. The fish C. cirrhosus had pathological symptoms like hypertrophy, hyperplasia, necrosis, haemorrhage, inflammation, vacuolation and clubbing. Similar signs were also recorded in L. rohita and C. catla but the degrees of severity were less. Among the fish gills were more affected with protozoan followed by skin, liver and the less affected organ was the muscle. In some cases large bacterial colony and protozoan cyst were observed in the secondary gill lamellae of C. cirrhosus. Key word: Histopathology, carp fingerlings, Mymensingh. Histopathological effects of acute copper sulphate exposure on kidney, liver and gill of common carp, Cyprinus carpio, fingerlings
In the present study histological effects of copper sulphate on, 180 common carp, Cyprinus carpio, fingerlings were studied. In this regard, fish of treatment groups were exposed to 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 ppm of copper sulphate during 4 days. Behaviours and clinical signs of fish were recorded during the experiment, and samples were done from kidney, liver and gill of moribund and fresh dead fish, a...

Acute toxicity and effects of sublethal concentrations of oxadiargyl herbicide (3% EC) were examined on DNA damage (Comet assay) and histopathological changes in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) fingerlings with average weight and length of 19.15±1.05 g and 10.09±0.47 cm, respectively. The fish were exposed to 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5 mg/L of the herbicide for 30 days. Estimated 96-h LC50 value for oxadia...

The aim of this study was to investigate the body shape and morphological comparison between the populations of wild (marine) and farmed common carp using geometric morphology. For this purpose, 65 pieces of fish including 23 wild common carp and 42 farmed common carp were sampled. The samples were then photographed and 16 landmarks were identified on the images. Procrast analysis was used in o...
