The Succinct Solver Suite

چکیده
The Succinct Solver Suite offers two analysis engines for solving data and control flow problems expressed in clausal form in a large fragment of first order logic. The solvers have proved to be useful for a variety of applications including security properties of Java Card bytecode, access control features of Mobile and Discretionary Ambients, and validation of protocol narrations formalised in a suitable process algebra. Both solvers operate over finite domains although they can cope with regular sets of trees by direct encoding of the tree grammars; they differ in fine details about the demands on the universe and the extent to which universal quantification is allowed. A number of transformation strategies, mainly automatic, have been studied aiming on the one hand to increase the efficiency of the solving process, and on the other hand to increase the ease with which users can develop analyses. The results from benchmarking against state-of-the-art solvers are encouraging.

A Feasibility Study
Abstract. We perform a direct comparison of the Succinct Solver v2.0 and XSB Prolog v2.6 based on experiments with Control Flow Analyses of scalable Discretionary Ambient programs and Carmel programs. To facilitate this comparison we expand ALFP clauses accepted by the Succinct Solver into more general Normal clauses accepted by both solvers and run the experiments for all three possible combin...
متن کاملDescription and Representation of the Problems selected for the First International Constraint Satisfaction Solver Competition
In this paper, we present the problems that have been selected for the first international competition of CSP solvers. First, we introduce a succinct description of each problem and then, we present the two formats that have been used to represent the CSP instances.
متن کاملA Pearl on SAT Solving in Prolog
A succinct SAT solver is presented that exploits the control provided by delay declarations to implement watched literals and unit propagation. Despite its brevity the solver is surprisingly powerful and its elegant use of Prolog constructs is presented as a programming pearl.
