A TINA-based solution for Dynamic VPN Provisioning on heteroge- neous networks

چکیده
The objective of this work is to support dynamic (i.e. on demand) VPN provisioning. To this aim, this paper presents an information model describing Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) at a high level of abstraction. The information model is based on COPS and TINA concepts. The paper also proposes an architecture for dynamic VPN control based on the defined information model. The proposed model is thought to be applicable in a large-scale, multi-provider environment.

ATM VPN services: Provisioning, operational and management aspects
Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) have been recognised as a vital means for providing value added services over future ATM-based IBC networks. The multi-operator, multi-provider nature of the deregulated telecommunications market imposes requirements for one-stop shopping, complaining and accounting. The VPN concept aims at meeting these requirements and, moreover, advancing the current telecommu...
متن کاملResource optimization algorithms for virtual private networks using the hose model
Virtual private networks (VPNs) provide a secure and reliable communication between customer sites over a shared network. With increase in number and size of VPNs, service providers need efficient provisioning techniques that adapt to customer demands. The recently proposed hose model for VPN alleviates the scalability problem of the pipe model by reserving for aggregate ingress and egress band...
متن کاملA Study of VPN Growth Trends for Network Planning
IP based Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) are being deployed as the solution of choice for site-to-site communication for a large number of enterprises. The provider networks that support these services are faced with unique challenges in terms of network planning. There is a lot of value in understanding the characteristics of VPNs from the perspective of planning, provisioning and maintenance ...
متن کاملProvisioning QoS in Virtual Private Network using Dynamic Scheduling
Active and programmable networks change the functionality of routers and switches by using VPN endpoints and active packets. The authors present a new packet scheduling scheme called active scheduling to control and maintain QoS parameters in virtual private networks (VPNs) within the confines of adaptive and programmable networks. In active scheduling a VPN endpoint on the router monitors the ...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of Rejection Ratio in Cost Optimized Virtual Private Networks Provisioning Algorithm (COVPA) Using Waxman and Barabasi Model in Cyber Space
Problem statement: Virtual private networks have provided customers with a secure and low-cost communication environment. Approach: The COVPA, the provisioning algorithm for a Virtual Private Network service, which built and managed VPNs on demand. Results: The COVPA allowed each VPN to have guaranteed resources and customized control and supported a highly dynamic VPN service where creation an...
