Facial performance illumination transfer from a single video using interpolation in non-skin region

چکیده
This paper proposes a novel video-based method to transfer the illumination from a single reference facial performance video to a target one taken under nearly uniform illumination. We first filter the key frames of the reference and the target face videos with an edge-preserving filter. Then, the illumination component of reference key frame is extracted through dividing the filtered reference key frames by the corresponding filtered target key frames in skin region. The differences in non-skin region caused by different expressions between the reference and target face may bring about artifacts. Therefore, we interpolate the illumination component of the non-skin region by that of the surrounded skin region to ensure the spatial smoothness and consistency. After that, the illumination components of key frames are propagated to non-key frames to ensure the temporal consistency between the two adjacent frames. We obtain convincing results by transferring the illumination effects of a single reference facial performance video to a target one with the spatial and temporal consistencies preserved. Facial Expression Recognition Based on Anatomical Structure of Human Face
Automatic analysis of human facial expressions is one of the challenging problems in machine vision systems. It has many applications in human-computer interactions such as, social signal processing, social robots, deceit detection, interactive video and behavior monitoring. In this paper, we develop a new method for automatic facial expression recognition based on facial muscle anatomy and hum...
متن کاملIllumination Invariant Face Recognition Using Thermal Infrared Imagery
A key problem for face recognition has been accurate identification under variable illumination conditions. Conventional video cameras sense reflected light so that image grayvalues are a product of both intrinsic skin reflectivity and external incident illumination, thus obfuscating the intrinsic reflectivity of skin. Thermal emission from skin, on the other hand, is an intrinsic measurement t...

This paper proposes a new shadow removal approach for input single natural image by using subregion matching illumination transfer. We first propose an effective and automatic shadow detection algorithm incorporating global successive thresholding scheme and local boundary refinement. Then we present a novel shadow removal algorithm by performing illumination transfer on the matched subregion p...
متن کاملCombining skin texture and facial structure for face identification
Current face identification systems are not robust enough to accurately identify the same individual in different images with changes in head pose, facial expression, occlusion, length of hair, illumination, aging, etc. This is especially a problem for facial images that are captured using low resolution video cameras or webcams. This paper introduces a new technique for facial identification i...
متن کاملVideo Subject Inpainting: A Posture-Based Method
Despite recent advances in video inpainting techniques, reconstructing large missing regions of a moving subject while its scale changes remains an elusive goal. In this paper, we have introduced a scale-change invariant method for large missing regions to tackle this problem. Using this framework, first the moving foreground is separated from the background and its scale is equalized. Then, a ...
