چکیده

1. Abstract This paper presents a modeling technique to be used in substrate coupling computation of mixed-signal circuits. Substrate crosstalk can negatively impact the performance of analog circuit elements such as mixers or amplifiers and can lead to a total breakdown of circuit parts. In order to forecast substrate-related problems and to analyze its influence EDA-tools are needed that can be applied during layout verification. Depending on the degree of accuracy interfaces between the designed elements and the substrate region have to be modeled. A very important issue is the calculation of junction capacitors. We propose a method that is capable of accurately determining lumped junction capacitors without measurement or device simulation.

A Bus Encoding to Reduce Crosstalk Noise Effect in System on Chip

This paper proposes a new bus coding scheme for reducing the crosstalk in System on chip(soc). As circuit geometries become smaller, wire interconnections become closer together and taller, thus increasing the cross-coupling capacitance between nets. At the same time, parasitic capacitance to the substrate becomes less as interconnections become narrower, and cell delays are reduced as transist...

Modeling the Effect of Wire Resistance in Deep Submicron Coupled Interconnects for Accurate Crosstalk Based Net Sorting

It is well known that in deep submicron technologies the coupling capacitance between adjacent wires is a critical portion of the total wire capacitance, while at the same time the capacitance between wire and substrate has become the fringing component. High frequency signals travelling across multiple level interconnect structures generate proximity effects, i.e. crosstalk effects, between ad...

Efficient Delay Calculation in Presence of Crosstalk

Efficient and accurate delay calculation is very important in physical design, optimization and fast verification. In this paper we consider explicit delay calculation for RC interconnects with coupling capacitance. The formulae are derived using a simplified transfer function which offers enough accuracy. We have expressed coefficients of two pole transfer function in terms of circuit paramete...

Parasitic extraction: current state of the art and future trends

With the increase in circuit performance (higher speeds) and density (smaller feature size) in deep submicrometer (DSM) designs, interconnect parasitic effects are increasingly becoming more important. This paper first surveys the state of the art in parasitic extraction for resistance, capacitance, and inductance. The paper then covers other related issues such as interconnect modeling, model ...

Fast Simulation of Reflection and Crosstalk Effects Using a Pad E Approximation

The detection of reeection{ and crosstalk{eeects during the design of complex printed circuit boards is very time consuming if it is based on an accurate simulation of the voltages at the inputs and outputs of all transmission lines. A division of the complete analysis process into a fast and approximative preanalysis and the following accurate simulation of those nets, which have been classiie...
