Adiabatic Spiral Correlation Chemical Shift Imaging

چکیده
Introduction The overlap of spectra in magnetic resonance spectroscopy limits the unambiguous identification and quantification of metabolites. Two of the most employed approaches involve fitting with a known basis set [1] and spectral editing [2]. Alternatively, multidimensional correlation spectroscopy [3] does not need to assume a certain basis set, nor needs to filter-out metabolites as in spectral editing. Here we present novel pulses sequences for correlation chemical shift imaging (CCSI) that use adiabatic excitation and spiral encoding to acquire the four dimensional (kx,ky,t1,t2) space. Methods All experiments were demonstrated on whole-body 3T Tim Trio clinical scanners (Siemens, Erlangen, Germany), using body coil for transmit and the 32-channel head coil for receive. We designed new pulse sequences for multivoxel two-dimensional (2D) Correlation Spectroscopy (COSY) and Total Correlation Spectroscopy (TOCSY) shown in Figure 1.

Correlation chemical shift imaging with low-power adiabatic pulses and constant-density spiral trajectories.
In this work we introduce the concept of correlation chemical shift imaging (CCSI). Novel CCSI pulse sequences are demonstrated on clinical scanners for two-dimensional Correlation Spectroscopy (COSY) and Total Correlation Spectroscopy (TOCSY) imaging experiments. To date there has been limited progress reported towards a feasible and robust multivoxel 2D COSY. Localized 2D TOCSY imaging is sho...
متن کاملShort TE Volumetric Spiral 1H MR Spectroscopic Imaging of the Human Brain at 3T using semi-LASER
Introduction Proton MR chemical shift imaging (CSI) of brain metabolites can identify biomarkers relevant to healthy or metabolic cerebral metabolism. At short TE, strongly J-coupled and short T2 metabolites can be detected. High field offers higher SNR and improved spectral resolution with the disadvantage of increased B1 and B0 heterogeneities as well as chemical shift displacement error (CSD...
متن کاملSpiral readout gradients for the reduction of motion artifacts in chemical shift imaging.
A motion artifact reduction method for proton chemical shift imaging (CSI) is presented. The method uses spiral-based readout gradients for data acquisition. A characteristic of spiral-based readout gradients is that data are repeatedly sampled at the kxy origin. These data points are used to estimate and correct for motion-induced phase variations. Both phantom and in vivo spectra reconstructe...
متن کاملSpiral water-fat imaging with integrated off-resonance correction on a clinical scanner.
PURPOSE To integrate water-fat-resolved spiral gradient-echo imaging with off-resonance correction into a clinical MR scanner and to evaluate its basic feasibility and performance. MATERIALS AND METHODS Three-point chemical shift imaging was implemented with forward and strongly T(2)*-weighted reverse spiral sampling and with off-resonance correction after water-fat separation. It was applied...
متن کامل3D cardiac Chemical Shift Imaging of [1-13C] hyperpolarized acetate and pyruvate in pigs
Background 13C Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) with rapid dissolution together with Magnetic Resonance Chemical Shift Imaging (CSI) have been used for non-invasive real-time metabolic assessment in cardiac experimental models on a clinical 3T scanner. Here, we report an in vivo comparison of hyperpolarized [1-13C] pyruvate and [1-13C] acetate perfusion and metabolism: a method based on a 3D ...
