Towards a Pattern-based Semantic Enrichment of Bibliographic Entities
نویسنده
چکیده
The semantic enrichment of cultural heritage data is a crucial step for memory institutions to provide enhanced search services and to reduce the costs for managing resources. Yet, using information systems based on semantic web technologies implies to migrate and enrich the legacy data according to the dedicated semantic models. In the library community such task can be very complex when handling large catalogs of records stored using old and flat models. This paper focuses on the challenges related to metadata migration process and semantic enrichment of bibliographic data. We present the contributions and lessons learned from the FRBRisation study and we provide preliminary discussions and ongoing work about the enrichment of FRBRised entities.

Towards Semantic Web Information Extraction
The approach towards Semantic Web Information Extraction (IE) presented here is implemented in KIM – a platform for semantic indexing, annotation, and retrieval. It combines IE based on the mature text engineering platform (GATE1) with Semantic Web-compliant knowledge representation and management. The cornerstone is automatic generation of named-entity (NE) annotations with class and instance ...
متن کاملLinking FRBR Entities to LOD through Semantic Matching
In this paper, we present an approach to automatically link FRBR works identi ed in metadata to the corresponding entity in Linked Open Data resources. The main contribution is a basis for semantic enrichment and veri cation of works identi ed in existing metadata. Through experiments, we demonstrate that FRBR works can be identied in the LOD cloud, which provides a solid ground for further work.
متن کاملExtracting Knowledge for Cultural Heritage Knowledge Base Population
The entity-oriented description of the world is a major, current trend motivated by the need for semantic services that can support the human need of finding information, learning and discovering new knowledge, and broadening the existing knowledge horizons. Entities, managed in semantic knowledge bases, have the potential to be the backbone for these new and innovative services. Therefore, aut...
متن کاملA Survey of FRBRization Techniques
The Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR), an emerging model in the bibliographic domain, provide interesting possibilities in terms of cataloguing, representation and semantic enrichment of bibliographic data. However, the automated transformation of existing catalogs to fit this model is a requirement towards a wide adoption of FRBR in libraries. The cultural heritage commu...
متن کاملNamed Entity Recognition in Persian Text using Deep Learning
Named entities recognition is a fundamental task in the field of natural language processing. It is also known as a subset of information extraction. The process of recognizing named entities aims at finding proper nouns in the text and classifying them into predetermined classes such as names of people, organizations, and places. In this paper, we propose a named entity recognizer which benefi...
