چکیده

(December 27, 1999) Recently, Cormier and Holman pointed out that fluctuations of an inflaton field φ are significantly enhanced in the model of spinodal inflation with a potential V (φ) for which the second derivative V (φ) changes sign. As an application of this model, we investigate particle production in the natural inflation model with a potential V (φ) = m [1 + cos(φ/f)] by making use of the Hartree approximation. For typical mass scales f ∼ mpl ∼ 10GeV, and m ∼ mGUT ∼ 10GeV, we find that growth of fluctuations relevantly occurs for the initial value of inflaton φ(0) ∼ 0.1mpl. Especially for φ(0) ∼ 10−6mpl, maximum fluctuations are so large that secondary inflation takes place by produced fluctuations. In this case, the achieved number of e-folding becomes much larger than in the case where an effect of spinodal instability is neglected. Since low momentum modes are mainly enhanced, this may affect long wave metric perturbations relevant for the structure formation.

Spinodal instabilities and super-Planckian excursions in natural inflation.

Models such as Natural Inflation that use pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone bosons as the inflaton are attractive for many reasons. However, they typically require trans-Planckian field excursions ΔΦ>MPl, due to the need for an axion decay constant f>MPl to have both a sufficient number of e-folds and values of ns,r consistent with data. Such excursions would in general require the addition of all other h...

Non-perturbative Quantum Dynamics of a New Inflation Model

We consider an O(N) model coupled self-consistently to gravity in the semiclassical approximation, where the field is subject to ‘new inflation’ type initial conditions. We study the dynamics self-consistently and non-perturbatively with non-equilibrium field theory methods in the large N limit. We find that spinodal instabilities drive the growth of non-perturbatively large quantum fluctuation...

The Effect of Inflation Targeting on Indirect Tax Performance in Selected Countries Using Propensity Score Matching Model

Inflation targeting framework has become a predominant monetary approach across the globe. Williams (2015) believes that in a very real sense, almost all economies are inflation targeters -either explicit or implicit- now.(1) Due to the increasing spread of this policy, it is necessary to consider the way it affects macroeconomic variables. using prevalent economic models for evaluating the eff...

False Vacuum Decay after Inflation

Inflation is terminated by a non-equilibrium process which finally leads to a thermal state. We study the onset of this transition in a class of hybrid inflation models. The exponential growth of tachyonic modes leads to decoherence and spinodal decomposition. We compute the decoherence time, the spinodal time, the size of the formed domains and the homogeneous classical fields within a single ...

The Effect of Exchange Rate, Oil Prices and Global Inflation Shocks on Macroeconomic Variables for the Iranian Economy in the form of a DSGE Model

T he world economy has experienced a bulk of positive and negative shocks in crude oil prices and exchange rates over the years, and that global inflation has undergone some changes. Such shocks have affected the macroeconomic variables in the countries of the world and have challenged the economies of these countries, and have led them to take different measures to protect themselves agai...
