چکیده

In the simple case of one-dimension al flow between plate s, we show t he effect of Galil ean non-i nveriance of th e usual hexagonal lattice gas mode. Thi s effect leads to a distorted velocity profile when the velocity exceeds a value of 0.4. Higher-order corre ctions to the Navier-Stokes equa tions are considered in a discussion of th e num erical importance of th e distortion.

Lattice gas experiments on a non-exothermic diffusion flame in a vortex field

2014 It is a known shortcoming of lattice gas models for fluid flow that they do not possess Galilean invariancy. In the case of a single component incompressible flow, this problem can be compensated by a suitable rescaling of time, viscosity and pressure. However this procedure cannot be applied to a flow containing more than one species. We describe here an extension of the Frisch Hasslacher...

Integer Lattice Gases

We generalize the hydrodynamic lattice gas model to include arbitrary numbers of particles moving in each lattice direction. For this generalization we derive the equilibrium distribution function and the hydrodynamic equations, including the equation of state and the prefactor of the inertial term that arises from the breaking of galilean invariance in these models. We show that this prefactor...

Lattice Boltzmann modeling of two component gas diffusion in solid oxide fuel cell

In recent years, the need for high efficiency and low emission power generation systems has made much attention to the use of fuel cell technology. The solid oxide fuel cells due to their high operating temperature (800 ℃ -1000 ℃) are suitable for power generation systems.Two-component gas flow (H2 and H2O) in the porous media of solid oxide fuel cell’s anode have been modeled via lattice Boltz...

Lattice Boltzmann algorithms without cubic defects in Galilean invariance on standard lattices

The vast majority of lattice Boltzmann algorithms produce a non-Galilean invariant viscous stress. This defect arises from the absence of a term in the third moment, the equilibrium heat flow tensor, proportional to the cube of the fluid velocity. This moment cannot be specified independently of the lower moments on the standard lattices such as D2Q9, D3Q15, D3Q19 or D3Q27. A partial correction...
