چکیده
he 2002 Summer School on Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing was organized and run by a team of volunteers from ETH Zurich between 7th and 14th of August. The school was situated at the beautiful Dagstuhl Castle in Germany, close to the border of Luxembourg and France, and built on the success of the Ubiquitous Computing Seminar held in the same location the previous year. The lecturers were John Barton, Nigel Davies, Anind Dey, Hans Werner Gellersen, Marc Langheinrich, Friedemann Mattern, and Thad Starner.

A context-sensitive dynamic role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments
Resources and services are accessible in pervasive computing environments from anywhere and at any time. Also, due to ever-changing nature of such environments, the identity of users is unknown. However, users must be able to access the required resources based on their contexts. These and other similar complexities necessitate dynamic and context-aware access control models for such environmen...

T he second Pervasive Computing Education Workshop (PerEd 09; http://cseweb.ucsd.edu/~wgg/ PerEd2009) was held in conjunction with the 11th International Conference on Ubiquitous Computing (Ubicomp 09) in Orlando, Florida. It had been five years since the first PerEd workshop in 2004 (http://doi. ieeecomputersociety.org /10.1109/ PERCOMW.2004.10008) and six years since the formative Ubicomp Edu...
متن کاملUbiSoft - pervasive software
Ubiquitous computing enhances computer use by making many computers available throughout the physical environment, while making them effectively invisible to the user. Ubiquitous computing can be seen as a prerequisite for pervasive computing that emphasizes mobile data access, and the mechanisms needed to support a community of nomadic users. Ambient intelligence focuses on a smart way to use ...
متن کاملClinical Proof-of-Concept – A Evaluation Method for Pervasive Healthcare Systems
Pervasive Healthcare – i.e. designing pervasive computing technologies for healthcare usage – is an especially promising area within pervasive and ubiquitous computing research. However, it is extremely difficult to evaluate such systems because establishing clinical evidence for medical benefits would require longitudinal, randomized, doubleblind, placebo-controlled trials involving a homogene...
متن کاملGoing Back to School: Putting a Pervasive Environment into the Real World
This paper presents the lessons learnt from the development of a ubiquitous computing environment for use within the real world. Such systems are currently purpose built demonstrators, often within research labs. This paper is based on the development of a storytelling environment for use within schools. This migration – from the lab to the school – required the redevelopment of the platform, a...
