Position correction of moving targets in SAR-imagery

چکیده
Standard SAR-processing methods are based upon the assumption of a static scene. If targets are moving, their positions in the SAR-image are translated in azimuth and defocusing may occur. In this paper, some methods for the detection and imaging of moving targets and the estimation of their real positions are discussed, such as monopulse and DPCA. Experimental results are shown on correction of azimuth position using the monopulse ratio of two SAR-imagery derived from the Σand ∆-channels.

Detecting Moving Targets in SAR Imagery by Using a Phase-Error Correction Algorithm
Motion of a target induces phase errors in a synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) signal (phase) history that cause the image of the moving target to be smeared in azimuth. We can detect the presence of a moving target by sensing the smearing, as follows. We divide the complex image of a scene that includes a moving target into a grid of patches, and apply a phase-error correction algorithm to each p...

متن کاملHandling Phase in Sparse Reconstruction for SAR: Imaging, Autofocusing, and Moving Targets
We consider sparse image reconstruction methods for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and discuss how issues related to the phase of the complex-valued SAR reflectivities and the phase of the observed SAR data emerge and are handled in a number of currently available methods. In particular, we consider analysis and synthesis models for sparsity-driven SAR imaging, and discuss how the optimization ...

Ground moving target indication (GMTI) for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) provides information on non-static objects in radar imagery of a static ground scene. While general applications cover a wide area of topics from ocean current measurements to glacier ice flow, millimeter wave (mmW) SAR is well suited for traffic monitoring, reconnaissance, and identification of special target movements i...
متن کاملDeep Learning for End-to-End Automatic Target Recognition from Synthetic Aperture Radar Imagery
The standard architecture of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) automatic target recognition (ATR) consists of three stages: detection, discrimination, and classification. In recent years, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for SAR ATR have been proposed, but most of them classify target classes from a target chip extracted from SAR imagery, as a classification for the third stage of SAR ATR. In ...
