Triangulation Triangulated

چکیده
The idea of triangulation arises in two contexts in Davidson’s work. In the first, triangulation is used as an analogy to help explain the central idea of a transcendental argument designed to show that we can have the concept of objective truth only in the context of communication. In the second, the triangulation of two speakers responding to each other and to a common cause of similar responses is invoked as a solution to the problem of underdetermination of thought and meaning by the patterns of causal relations we stand in to the environment. With respect to the first use, I argue Davidson’s argument is unsuccessful because communication is not essential for developing the idea contrasting perspectives necessary for the concept of objectivity. With respect to the second, I show that appeal to this sort of triangulation does not help with the problem it is intended to solve.

Tight and stacked triangulations of manifolds
Tight triangulated manifolds are generalisations of neighborly triangulations of closed surfaces and are interesting objects in Combinatorial Topology. Tight triangulated manifolds are conjectured to be minimal. Except few, all the known tight triangulated manifolds are stacked. It is known that locally stacked tight triangulated manifolds are strongly minimal. Except for three infinite series ...
متن کاملAcute Triangulations of Pentagons
An acute triangulation is a triangulation whose triangles have all their angles less than π 2 . In this paper we prove that i) every planar pentagon can be triangulated into at most 54 acute triangles, and ii) every double pentagon can be triangulated into at most 76 acute triangles.
متن کاملAspherical manifolds that cannot be triangulated
Although Kirby and Siebenmann [13] showed that there are manifolds which do not admit PL structures, the possibility remained that all manifolds could be triangulated. In the late seventies Galewski and Stern [10] constructed a closed 5–manifold M 5 so that every n–manifold, with n 5, can be triangulated if and only if M 5 can be triangulated. Moreover, M 5 admits a triangulation if and only if...
متن کاملConverting triangulations to quadrangulations
We study the problem of converting triangulated domains to quadrangulations, under a variety of constraints. We obtain a variety of characterizations for when a triangulation (of some structure such as a polygon, set of points, line segments or planar subdivision) admits a quadrangulation without the use of Steiner points, or with a bounded number of Steiner points. We also investigate the effe...
متن کاملTriangulated Irregular Network Model from Mass Points
Digital Terrain Modeling, the Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) is a representation of a surface derived from irregularly spaced sample points and break line features. Paper deals with the basic concept of Delauney’s triangulation method with its practical approach in ArcGIS. The next section describes the process to convert mass points to TIN model and explores some of the basics of TIN Mod...
متن کاملTriangulation Properties of the Target Area in Wireless Sensor Networks
This paper studies through analysis and simulation the property that any arbitrary point in a target area containing randomly deployed wireless sensor nodes is triangulated in a graph derived from the positions of the nodes. In the graph representation, an edge exists between any two nodes closer than 2R units to one another, where R is the isotropic sensing radius of a node. The major result i...
