Comparative Fun Analysis in the Innovative Playware Game Platform

چکیده

This paper presents comparat ive fun experiments in the innovat ive playground ‘Playware’ which is a combinat ion of physical and virtual components for act ivat ing physical and social children’s play. For this purpose, a quant itat ive approach to entertainment modeling based on psychological studies in the field of computer games is int roduced. The paper invest igates quant itat ively how the qualitat ive factors of challenge, curiosity and fantasy cont r ibute to children’s entertainment when playing Playware games. Stat ist ical analysis of children’s selfreports shows that object ively children’s not ion of entertainment correlates highly with the fantasy factor whereas desired levels of challenge and curiosity depend on the individual child’s requirements.
